Walnut Fish Bar in South Lakeland

Would recommend eating here, one of the best tasting fish and chips I've had for a while. There was a little wait as it was busy, but well worth it. The fish was delightful, perfectly crispy batter and chunky flakes of fish. Great chips, nicely cooked. A little pricey but we were on holiday and didn't mind paying for the quality of food we got.

Great chippy reasonable price best chips I've tasted for a long time cheerfully bar staff. Don't get confused with the one across Rd. Not as good as this chippy.

Orderd 2 fish 1 chips got 1 fish n 2 chips ; too far to walk back : so about £5 out of pocket been many times and usually good ; will check next time ; bloke in front also returned wrong order

Couldn't fault it. Perfect chips. All fish and burgers freshly cooked and good sized portions. Limited choice of fish and plaice was in bread crumbs rather than batter but that was fine.

The lady was helpfull bit serious.Didnt smile Exspensive fish and chips. We live in Yorkshire 6.50 The fish had no flavor batter to thick You need to change batter should be light Buy it don't make batter Add some soda water to batter salt no flavor

Nice friendly staff and fish cooked from fresh. Chips were poor quality and the fish was greasy with a hard flavour less batter. Sorry wont be coming again

So we arrived at 19:45 tonight , 15 minutes before it was supposed to close , there was 3 people waiting for their food. We ordered 2 lots of chips and a fish cake! It took 30 minutes to do that! Plus they make you stand outside. I have never known a chippy like it! Did they drive to the local farm for potatoes and make them fresh? Wow! The food was awful! I recommend that you find somewhere else , it was a waste of time and money.

We caught these near to closing, but they were quite happy to put fresh fish in for us. Face covering required and we waited outside for our food to be brought out to us( you are given an order number) Friendly, hard working staff. Thank you for serving us, even though you were closing.The food was hot, batter crispy. Chips were a little disappointing, a lot of ends and small and thin, but as I said it was end of night.

Was initially hesitant to try this Fish and Chip bar after reading the reviews. Somehow, we decided to give it a try. It turns out that this may be one of the best fish and chips we have tried. The serving was generous and the amount of flour coating the fish was done well (tried some in London City which was too thick and oily, and after those few tries, have been avoiding fish and chip in London.). Plus, the price is really reasonable. So if you are looking for a good affordable meal, do give this outlet a try :)
