First I have to say the hospitality industry is under a strain and everywhere is short staffed. In so saying the staff were amazing, friendly, efficient and really made us feel welcome. The position is amazing with views over Windermere and close to so much in the area.I thought the bed was uncomfortable but my wife had the best sleep she has had and she is a bad sleeper so it is only my opinion and I would be unhappy if this swayed you. The rooms are lovely and kept clean. The food is really good but the reason I gave only four stars is that I was disappointed with the size of the starters. In so saying I am pescitarian and the fish was cooked really well. We had the vegetarian roast and I have to say it was amazing.I would truly recommend this hotel.

Stayed overnight for our anniversary, took our dog, we were all made to feel very welcome ( dog had her own bed in our room , with treats & a towel!) Beautiful view of lake from room. Staff very friendly and helpful, couldn't fault them. Great location for walks, drinks and food.

Would not recommend it. Shabby inside, service friendly but untrained, food below average. Breakfast simple but Ok. No safe in the rooms. Much to expensive for what you get. Location however is at the lake and very good. Very noisy being on a Main Road.

A very nice surprise as we got off the green line ferry from our hike around Wray castle. We sat in the large garden area with views of the marina, though the interior with it's large floor to ceiling windows would be nice if it were cooler or raining. I opted for one of the "Sunday roasts". My feta cheese, mushroom, and cheese tarts were excellent. There was a warm side salad and an outrageously good popover. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Ate at the restaurant only.Salmon fillet 4.5/5Pan seared sea bass fillets 4/5Really enjoyed our meal. Friendly staff. Good portions.Only suggestion would be to give a lemon wedge with the meal and some sort of sauce/jus for the potatoes as it got a bit dry.

Very very very dog friendly. Our room was big enough for our dogs crate. The waitress gave us some bed time milk for Lizzie as she has some every night. Our dinner first night was great. Beautiful food well cooked and tasty.Waitresses and waiter were so nice and worked hard. All of them made a fuss of Lizzie. We had a goodnights sleep. Gorgeous comfy huge bed and pillows like marshmallow. Breakfast next day was lovely. Help yourself to coffee and waitress gets tea and toast. Plenty to eat, fruit cereal, juice. Cooked breakfast was cooked just right and served hot. We had a walkers break which includes sandwich lunch the next day. You order the night before. Not good sandwiches. Crisps nice, apples and water. My cheese and pickle was smothered and running with piccalilli which I can not eat. My partners ham and mustard sandwich was smothered in a watery mustard. He managed half of his.Loved our short break with Lizzie and would stay here again. Thank you to all the staff including the cleaning staff. Well done everyone.

Loved the stay ! Staff fabulous and friendly. View fantastic. One downside, no elevator, with restaurant on lower floor. Made getting from room to dining room a bit hard. Apart from that absolutely perfect. Will stay again.

Friendly staff. Pleasant large room, with huge comfortable bed but furniture starting to look a little dated. Excellent breakfast. Good Evening meals. Not a big selection of Ales in the bar.

Fabulous small hotel in a lovely location. The staff are brilliant and very helpful and friendly. Good rooms. Not cheap but worth the money.

A dog friendly hotel where my wife and I stayed for 4 nights over Christmas with our dog Peggy. We received a lovely welcome from the manager, Gavin, and were made to feel right at home. Our room was spacious and cleaned and serviced daily. Had food bowls, sleeping rug and treats for Peggy. All our meals were included in our package and were delicious sizeable portions. Staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for us.In all, a fantastic stay at a highly recommended hotel.
