Old Leyland Gates in South Ribble

Well, no words needed! Fabulous kitchen n' amazing people's working there. Any one should put this place on "must visit" list.

The staff were friendly. The food was OK. It was the atmosphere that let the place down. Everyone looked miserable, couples sitting looking into space with no conversation. The three stars I have given are for the fact the steak I had was nice and tender. I had the mixed grill. The chicken was cold, and the sauagse hard, and I can only say that it had been reheated. Dissapointed really as the last time we were there (approx a year ago) the food was by far much better. I have been told that it's under new management so maybe this was the problem.

Some of these comments I feel are harsh. We went for tea on Saturday as a group of seven and found the food, service and staff all to be of great quality for a very reasonable price.We eat at some lovely restaurants and for a local tea treat I was very happy and will most definitely be going again.

Was really disappointed with my recent visit. Ordered food and drinks and sat down, few minutes later was told that my partner's order they had ran out off so had to go and change it. Waited way over an hour for food to arrive and when it did my order was completely wrong and looked nothing like they presented in on the picture menu. I told the guy this wasn't what I ordered and showed him the picture. He then came back with what I can only describe is a bunch of lettuce in a bowl and charcoal chicken dumped on top I said again this wasn't what I ordered as the meal should come with more than just lettuce it should have rice also with it etc. He went to kitchen and came back again and said they has run out of rice. After this I had gone past hungry and was disgusted with the presentation and everything about this visit. I asked for my refund back which I only got £2.50 for how it worked out from the receipt after the mess up with my partner's food to begin with. I don't blame the guy who actually dealt with us that day but the lady who put the order through wrong didn't even come and apologise. They could have even gave me a free a desert for all the hassle but nope didn't get that either. Thank goodness for McDonald's around the corner that's all I'm saying.

Been a couple of times recently and each time encountered something new. This time was no better, First of all we had a long wait for our meal. Then our children's meals came with corn on the cob which was off. Finally the cleanliness was not good, there were chips in the overhead lightshade and a finger nail clipping on the table. Overall this place has gone down hill since it opened. Needless to say we won't be going again.

Very poor, burgers were burnt, didn't get what was described on menu for another meal but didn't complain as we had to wait so long for our food. Had to wait almost an hour for food. Member of staff was pleasant though. Wouldn't recommended which is a shame as the pub could have potential.

If I could out zero stars I would. The service from the staff in the Leyland gates was absolutely terrible. We came in as a party of 9 for my son's 21st birthday. The manager was standoffish whilst serving us at the bar for our food order then questioned our age when we are all clearly old enough (Id was provided) then when the food was served 2 meals came out wrong and one of the children's meals was forgotten. This will be the last visit we make here and I would advise anyone who expects service to give this place a miss.

Fairly long wait, but was told just after ordering 49 minutes but turned out to be 1 hour 15 minutes. Mixed grill didn't come on the sizzling plate and no onions or mushrooms, quite poor and to top it off the steak and chicken was freezing cold!!

Eaten here for a while now, amazing food, brilliant service, and kid friendly. Mixed grill is a must eat!!
