The Gables Public House in South Ribble

Nice pub right in the centre of Leyland. Food is nice. Great outdoor seating area.

I booked a table at the Gables for myself and family, when we arrived they said where our table was, they had taken the reserve sign off before we where told where it was so some other people at sat down. This was resolved but the other customers were not happy and left. We then ordered food, starters and mains. After 50 minutes and second time of asking where our starters were I was asked did you request them to be separate to the mains as we are very busy and they will all come out together, I said no I did not request them to be separate because I had ordered starters and mains normally they would come separately. A couple of minutes later one starter came with a mains then two starters came and then the final starters came and then the remaining mains came. The food was nice but a little overpriced, which is a shame because the service wasn’t and I don’t think we’ll be eating there again .

Nice surroundings in the town. The food is really good!! Only had the bar snack Tacos and fries but great fresh flavour.

First time in pub and most likely be our local. Staff nice and friendly. Don't know about the food but sure we will try.

Terrible service! the 1 star goes to the lovely man behind the bar who was very apologetic about the reduced menu,( because the menu was being changed & they were running the stock down) if we had been told about that before we booked we maybe could have pre booked our food, we were Bluntly told by a very rude woman who appeared to be the manager ( after we'd ordered & paid for the food) ".you do realise your food will be about an hour?..well no we didnt & we should have been told that when we ordered, & it wasnt over busy, we had booked a table & no food was coming out of the kitchen during the one hour & twenty minutes that we waited, no apology, no asking us is the food was OK ( which it wasnt ) & no goodbye when we left... very rude, why would you want to treat your paying customers like that? We will won't be returning

First time we have eaten here. Food was excellent. Good quality cask ales, only thing that let it done was the bottle of wine wasn't chilled but a wine chiller sorted that out

Food and drink were fine. Tasty but a little over priced. Staff were friendly but definitely gave priority to those who seemed to be regulars or locals. The place was clean and there was a good atmosphere. The kitchen service was slow....REALLY slow. I felt like a 50 minute wait for scampi and chips was excessive!! There's better eating out options around so I won't bother going back.

One of the best pubs in Leyland.

Only recently moved to the area. Noticed the pub was under refurbishment at the time so thought we'd try it out for a bank holiday afternoon bite out. It wasn't too busy, had a nice relaxing atmosphere and was very comfortable. Me and my wife had burgers and they were cooked really well and tasted amazing. It didn't take long for the food to come out the the service was great. All in all a nice pub and would recommend a visit.

Had a lovely fish finger sandwiches. Dog friendly which is a bonus these days. Like the new renovation and decorations. Will recommend to friends and look forward to visiting again soon
