Where is The Sir Tom Finney?

🏠 Central Dr, Penwortham, Preston PR1 0NL

"The Sir Tom Finney has been under it's current management since September 2017 and has undergone an internal and external refurbishment. Our focus has been to introduce a diverse and completely fresh food menu that suits a pub environment but also has dishes that are more familiar in a restaurant surrounding to ensure there is something for everyone. Our children's menu also includes a selection of popular and freshly prepared choices to make sure everyone is happy! We served food from Tuesday to Sunday with a wide range of daily offers as well as a popular lunch time offer. See our website for more details. We look forward to welcoming you."

Had a wake for a close family member here a few days ago and have to say the pub was exactly what we were hoping for a good send off. Staff were amazing - attentive, polite, really respectful. The buffet was the best we've had, with lots of choices for meat eaters/vegetarians alike. Couldn't have found a better place to celebrate such a loved one. Thank you so much, it made a horrible time that much more bearable.

What a shame! Really gone down! Food was amazing only a few months ago, what’s happened??

Worst food I have ever had, rude staff and rude management. When you complain they will take it to heart and have a go at you. Just don’t waste your money!

·

Decent pub when open. Needs to be open more regular and give locals an extra reason to visit more often but as I said decent pub

Always rated this pub, but last two visits one for Sunday lunch and one for steak night have been disappointing, think management may have taken their eye off the ball.

Excellent home cooked food and service. Will definitely be going back

We have been to the Sir Tom Finney pub numerous times and have always enjoyed the service, the drinks and the food but tonight we went on pie night and ordered two peppered chicken pies. When we cut into them there was no sauce, juice or moisture whatsoever. The pastry was burnt and so hard it made eating it difficult as the filling was so dry. I returned mine and was offered an alternative so I asked for a cheese and onion pie. This was slightly better but still had hard pastry and a dry filling. My wife persevered with the peppered chicken but it was difficult to get it down.I don’t usually write negative reviews but having numerous excellent visits to Tom Finneys I felt I had to mention it and we hope it was just a one off because we will definitely be going back as we have always found the staff very helpful and friendly and the food, very tasty. Let’s hope that next time we aren’t disappointed and the usual standard is maintained. Normally we would award 5 stars.

Food was really nice and not badly priced. Went round about 5pm and it wasnt that busy, got a little bit busy round about 6-7pm

Attended this pub located in a housing development for a New Year's Eve party with friends. The pub provided food and a singer. Both were very good but the service of the very tasty food let the house down. The quality of the seating also was not impressive. The staff however were friendly and helpful and contributed greatly to the star count. I got the impression that because of its location the pub has not fared well during the pandemic.

Amazing food as always. Tuesday to Friday there are different offers on and kids meals are great too, even I'd be happy with the size of one of the kids meals. I had bread and butter pudding too and that was really nice.
