"This beautiful thatched roof pub is a grade II listed building and dates back to 1616 when it was a coaching house known as The Black Horse. An unusual feature of the building is the set of four mounting steps at the front left side. Typically there are only three mounting steps found on most buildings. They were used to assist in mounting a horse but are seldom used nowadays! In addition to the usual range of draught and bottled beers you might expect to find, we also have a good range of cask ales."

Lovely surroundings and decor. Very friendly staff. Food much to be desired. We had the Carvery ; the chicken tough and the beef chewy. Not a good selection of vegetables and no choice like other carverys where you put your own on, very limited. Not good value for money. Not a place that I would eat again, we wasn't even asked how our meal was, they must have known not to ask!!! There are better carvery and cheaper. Nice on a summers day with a pint without food.

No real ale, ran out of Guinness, food was decidedly average, steak pie was so chewie as to be inedible. Staff were friendly though - a tough job for them.

We've stopped here for lunch, dinner and a Sunday roast (not all on the same day!), always a friendly greeting, lovely food and we'll definitely be back. Also very accommodating to put the sound on for the football - thank you!

Booked for the annual girlie Christmas meal at Ye Olde Hob Inn. Not been before but definitely going back next Christmas and a few times inbetween! Fantastic staff, service and meal. Compliments to the chef, the food was outstanding. Exceptionally clean and love the cosiness of the Inn. Lovely atmosphere and people. Thank you so much ❤

Absolutely delicious lamb shank and Gammon steak. Wonderful 2 hour tea in a sunny July afternoon. Lovely chilled atmosphere and pinot grigio under the parasol. Noreen on fine form. Top pub in Brig.

Staff were pleasant. Food was a good standard although a little mould on the berries that they added on to the side of the plate of my dessert but not a huge issue
