Black Horse Inn in St. Helens

Absolutely brill place to drink and eat. Went here with a party of 6 and it was just brilliant.The staff are so welcoming and kind, the food is amazing and everything is reasonably priced.We had a lovely time and will definitely be back 😀

We booked, 15 people for 7:00pm. We turned up with two extra who were accommodated no problem, despite them being busy, on a table next to us, but with a bit of shuffling got them on with us. We were told food was 1½ hours wait which was disappointing as we'd booked, as they were behind from a busy day. Anyway we stuck with it ordered starters mains and drinks and starters appeared after maybe 15-20mins. Mains about 1hour but as there were 17 of us and we were all in conversation we didn't notice any wait. In fact we'd ate everything in the hour and ½. Food was really good everything was polished off. Staff really attentive and polite. Will be back again for sure.

Great food, good value our first time here but won't be our last. The chicken fajitas on a sizzling skillet were delicious served with large wraps and all the salsa,sour cream, guacamole etc didn't disappoint 😋 my partners surf and turf was also enjoyed - we'll be back 😀

For a Chain this was one of the better ones having been denied the Carvery we hoped for this was a reasonable second the Fish was well sized and not too heavily battered, staff pleasant, but you have to walk to the bar to order which if dining alone could cause a seating issue. Fortunately I wasn't

Although the food was nice, hot and cheap… having so many menu items missing was quite disappointing.Who doesn’t have mash, on Sundays, especially.Otherwise a cheap and cheerful meal out.The Beef / Pulled BBQ Chicken burger and seasoned fries were 👌🏽

Great pub food! Reasonably priced, portions are large so wont be left hungry. Food was cooked beautifully and the staff where great. Nice atmosphere and huge beer garden for when weather is nice.

Apsolutely spot on. I got mixed grill, everything on the plate was cooked to perfection. My hubby had triple cooked chips x3, gammon steak and mushy peas, also cooked perfect. Quick service, wide variety choice of food on the menu, great price. Definitely recommend to everyone. This is the best place we have been by far. Lovely decor too. Just FAB

Been one of my favourite pubs love the sizzler we eat here quite a bit and never disappointed. We got the Nacho's to share in my opinion a bit expensive but the taste texture was there as there tortillas cut and fried we loved them so well done just drop the price 🤣🤣

Meals are ordered from the bar....no waitress service. The food we got was excellent, so tasty....and not small portions. A place me and my daughter will go again.
