Bottle & Glass Inn in St. Helens

Absolutely superb food and friendly staff. Salt and pepper squid was soft and coated in one of the best, lightest batters I have ever tasted, sea bass and scallops with prawn risotto was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing and the Eaton mess was the perfect end to a perfect meal. I almost didn't write this review because I don't want too many people going there and making it harder to book the place! Best meal I have had in a long time!

Pleasant atmosphere and staff. Disappointing that they didn't tell us at the start what wasn't available, but still a very nice meal. I particularly like the option of soup instead of chips.

Excellent food, had the trio roast dinner, which was super tasty, the roast potatoes were absolutely delicious too!! All the staff were polite, smiley, friendly and welcoming. Jos behind the bar was really helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Eton Mess Sundae was amazing. Will definitely be back soon.

Very impressed with the service and quality of the food

Great meal came here for a birthday meal on a Monday. There was a variety of vegan options and varying children's menu. They even highlighted the vegan alcohol which I have not seen in a pub before. We had a lovely time, our waitress Karina was great and really good with the little ones.

First time having a meal here tonight and sadly will not be returning.The food was excellent but felt like we were rushed when eating, the starters had only just been taken when the mains appeared, not even time to visit the toilet. We stayed for a drink after the meal but began to feel like we were in the way, more so when people turned up and we heard staff say 'please don't come in' My partner had a fall on the step as the metal strip was not secure resulting in a hurt shoulder and finger spoke to manager who said he would get it sorted. Staff seen this happen but all we got was a quick 'are you ok?' No questions/queries as to how it happened, what caused it etc no concern at all! If you are looking for a quick sit, eat and out place then this is ideal, if you want somewhere to relax and enjoy a meal I suggest looking elsewhere

Boxing day meal. Had to eat dry as all their gravies had garlic in. Gave me two pats of butter for a bit of lubrication. No stuffing. No cranberry or apple sauce. Extremely tarty raspberry sorbet.

Nice atmosphere, I use a lot of Chef and brewer pubs for food. This particular one in my opinion is highly recommended. I actually travel out of my area to come here

First time visiting this establishment, and I must say it was a very pleasant experience. The place is lovely, clean and well laid out. The staff that we had dealings with were all very polite, friendly and informative. And the food.... well, it was delicious, and I'm quite fussy lol. All in all a lovely evening to celebrate our anniversary. Would definitely visit again. In fact, I'm looking forward to it.

A great little pub owned by Greene King. The food here is fantastic and the staff are great too. There’s room to sit outside at the front and the side of the building. Ordering via the app make like so much easier. It also has a good sized car park too. This is by far my favourite pub in Rainford!
