Derby Arms Rainford in St. Helens

Went after a dog walk with my friend and little girl. My friend waited in the seating area outside with our 4 dogs whilst I ordered drinks, I took my little girl to the toilet to change her and ordered the drinks where this female staff member was swearing about someone moving things in the fridges. I asked if it was possible for someone to help me by bringing the drinks outside, she replied we don't do table service outside! I said this was bad customer service as I'd asked for help she could see I had my hands full. She them went on to say if you're here with someone why don't they help you!!! My reply was he's holding 4 dogs however she had no idea who I was with had it been my disabled mum she obviously wouldn't have been able to help me. There was another girl behind the bar who heard and said she'd bring the drinks out and also said that the original girl can be a bit awkward! I will not be returning here and won't be recommending to anyone! We intended to have food but went elsewhere due to this disgusting member of staff! Avoid!

Have been meaning to go here for years but never made it till last week and it was well worth the wait excellent food and service best fish and chips I've had for a long time we'll definitely go back

Delicious food and a nice, warm atmosphere and friendly staff.

Absolutely beautiful again, black pudding, mashed and pepper corn sauce-breaded garlic mushrooms-penne pasta and chicken with Dianne sauce. Couldn't fault it and staff, lovely young ladies are amazing. Cant wait to go back.

Only went for a drink but what a lovely pub!! The food we saw looks amazing too! Will try food next time

1st time at the derby arms but will go back . Friendly staff gorgeous locally sourced food with a pleasent smooth service . Varied menu even sorted my two grandsons . Deffo worth a visit .

Food was lovely and the portions are enormous! The waitresses are friendly and don't hover which is nice. Our group tried the burger, lasagne, veggie curry and sausage and mash. All were delicious-massive, hot and tasty. Its a lovely pub, plenty of space to move around so you don't feel squashed in. Toilets are small, bit clean and though it was a saturday there was never a queue.

Absolutely love this place. If your looking for a good pub meal then this is a great choice. Food is tasty and the pub is traditional inside. Has a good size car park and outside seating area. The lunch menu is incredible value during the day for 2 courses. Just be careful on your starter choice as some are the same size as a main meal!

Visited here for drinks, I found the staff really polite and friendly. The pub inside is a very rustic style. There are tables indoors and outdoors to the rear of the pub. Worth a visit if you’re passing by.

Very disappointed with the service/ response from staff tonight.Tried to order food for outside and they refused to take my order. They said they were busy and to come back later.I would have been happier for them to say there may be a wait, (at least I would have been in the queue) but they still wouldn't take my order. They were not polite.We left and had a very nice meal somewhere else.
