Absolutely appalling attitude and hospitality provided by the General manager. Before reading other reviews I thought just maybe it was an off day but it seems other reviews also confirm the complete lack of hospitality.I strongly feel that you’re in the wrong profession. The way you spoke to my family today was absolutely appalling and to learn you’re in a position of management is extremely surprising. You display a complete lack of professionalism and have no customer service skills at all. Might I suggest you arrange some of your staff to deal with customer interaction as the lady and gentleman I spoke to were lovely and pleasant to speak with, the complete opposite to the GM.In regards to food, Carvery was enjoyable with the exception to the parsnips which where completely burnt. Not a place I would suggest to take your family no sooner seated and they’re rushing you out the door, will take my custom elsewhere in future.

The main menu was not available due to the chef having a 1 hour break. The car vary was being served..I chose a small carvery. BeefThe beef was dry and full of grizzle I couldn't eat it.Vegetables including potato's all cold..Hence I left my meal..I would not order food from here again

We have been here at various times with different amount of people and we have always had good food and service with the exception of late .The new greet system seems to have brought out the ' table police' with some staff ....I also didn't like to see the older lady with red hair being ignored by a waitress and the big fella who works there more recently.Flirting with each and then ignoring the woman. Have respect and learn manners.I like the style of pub but really don't like the back room as its a different feel in thereNever been in that room until the last twice as we keep getting told bar area full even when we see empty tables or it's booked...half hour later still empty 😕The carvery servers are always polite and the food from kitchen always pretty fast service. The pub itself is a really lovely comfortable warm place and really well run. Can't fault it..The main issue is with some staff who come and go .Some are good some not.

Visited the Grapes on the 21/01/22 for lunch....and it didnt disappoint. Lovely and spacious with character. The aroma from the carvery was delicious, and it was very tasty. The menu had enough different meals to please everyone. Staff was very helpful and pleasant .....won't be our last time there.

I came for lunch a few days ago with a friend and Sharon in particular made us feel very welcome, as she was attentive and friendly. Charlotte also was very helpful. Will definitely be coming here for food again.

We took our family here yesterday and were all delighted. Carvery was perfect, everything on the plate got eaten. Apsolutely gorgeous. Kids had pizza, nuggets, gammon, sausage, burger, chips and mash. Every single one of us cleared our plates. GREAT CHEAP PRICES . We got all the kids a massive chocolate Sunday, it's huge, all the kids faces light up and they finished all of it.Definitely recommend. Wide variety on the menu and every drink anybody could name.Thank you for a lovely, full belly filled night.

We went for a Sunday afternoon stroll down to the Grapes. Upon arrival we were greeted by a not so smiley older lady, she probably felt we should have booked. She did manage to squeeze us in.The meal was lovely and a well proportioned plate and service was quick. The only reason for taking off a star was the seats were directly next to radiator so felt it wasn't only the chicken being cooked. This alongside the lack of ventilation in covid times could have been better organised. However a lovely afternoon spent at the Grapes

Good quick service. Everything seems well drilled. I got a huge fish and chips for eleven quid. And it was surprisingly decent for pub grub. For what it is, you get good value for money, good service and good pub food. I would definitely go again.

Went yesterday for dinner with my family. Lovely atmosphere food was amazing and the staff were so friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble. Especially Sharon I think the ladies name was our 3 year old loved her she was so attentive with him even when he was running around. Will defiantly be going again.

Had the 3 courses for 5.99 deal. Very good quality for the cost of the deal and portion size was adequate for the amount of courses. Nice meal , friendly service , didn't have to wait too long between courses. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Can see why it's always busy here. Would definitely come back. Update - been back after lockdown and the ultimate fish and chips was incredible.
