Maplewood Restaurant in St. Helens

With not a lot of options for Chinese meals in Warrington this is the best and has been for our 20 years

Fair to say this is and has been for many years the best Chinese food in the Warrington district. We have eaten there as a family many times over the years and never failed to enjoy the food. The restaurant is well set out. The staff are friendly and helpful and the parking is plentiful and on the premises. Considering how nice the food is, the price is reasonable. If you want to have really good Chinese food, put some certainty into your choice and pick the Maplewood with confidence.

Lovely setting. Very clean. Friendly staff, good service. Great selection of food choices - different from the usual range of dishes. Loved the pieces of fillet steak done in garlic and cream.

Had an excellent meal here recently for my daughter's 17th birthday and the staff were very friendly too. However, as the tables are quite close together, it can be a bit noisy as it was when we were here sitting right next to a family with little kids playing on their mini computer devices. It's down to their parents though to make sure they behave. If you've got older kids like I have, would recommend eating out a bit later instead of at 6pm when it's busy with young families and this is what I will do in future.

Ive been visiting the Maplewood since I was a child some 25 years ago and its consistently excellent food and service. Parents wedding anniversary tonight and banquet A was superb. Plentiful for a family with big appetites and very reasonably priced. The staff are attentive and friendly but not overbearing. 👍🏼

Amazing service all evening and a big thank you to Sue for being so helpful and accommodating.When placing our orders I was asked if I had any dietary requirements, I informed sue that I was vegan and if any of the veggie options on the menu were suitable. She went above and beyond to make sure all of my food was vegan friendly and was made fresh. So even though the menu does not state any vegan options, this restaurant can accommodate you no problem. The food was really nice, especially the tofu and aubagine in black bean sauce.I will be recommending this place to any friends who are looking for a great Chinese restaurant.

Friendly staff throughout. Even when my friend accidentally spilt his beer twice in the waiting bar. A lovely touch to have somewhere to catch up before going into the banquet Hall. I've never had a bad meal here. The food is always fresh and bang on. My stepdaughter loved it when we came a while back at 10 years old so brilliant for family or close friends catching up. The staff are very attentive.

One of the best restaurant I have been in the past few years. The staff is efficient, professional and polite. The food was simply amazing. Wish I got the recipe for the ribs. The place is simply gorgeous. Definitely worth a visit and most surely will be comming back.

Best Chinese in the north west - without a doubt. Ignore the menu, banquet A will give you all your favourites. Friendly staff and comfortable seats. What more can you ask. Take aways are just as good too.

One of my favourite local restaurants. Food is always wonderful and well presented. One warning - go hungry! The amount of food involved (if you have the banquet), is phenomenal 👌 There were four of us and very little of the final courses was eaten because we were full!
