Pound Bakery in St. Helens

Since the BIG lock up the pasties have gone awful, just pastry and minimal filling. I'll never buy from here again

I enjoy going in the Poundbakery & Poundcafe in St Helens as they offer good value for money food and drinks, and all the staff always have a smile on their faces and a efficient friendly service. They also pride themselves keeping all areas clean and tidy considering they're generally always kept busy do to the popularity of their shop! :-)

I'm a social media influencer who has been rising up on Instagram and Twitter for various health related posts, i had considered a series where i eat only some of the fines Pound bakery products and as it seems this idea is popular with the masses so i come here to ask for a sponsorship in exchange for a lenient review and i will market the Steak pasties as a super food that helps to both gain muscle and shred the pound with the use of the highly protein packed, nutrient based pastery. Loved going there only when you or waiting door into back room is always slamming when they go in and out I have asked th twice to put something there to stop it but to no avail still continents when I when again not sure if I will g o back in plus other went happy so it was left to me to mention again

Very nice, cheap food an polite workers had a lovely breakfast, chicken burger an chips

Low prices, top food and great customer service. Can’t fault a good PoundBakery

The pound cafe was sadly not a great experience. The staff were brusque. The coffee was dreadful, water with a hint of coffee. The pasties barely cooked. At one point a pigeon flew in and just wandered around for the duration, no one shifted it. It was the most fun we had watching it wander around. I have had good pasties from the bakery itself, and I've also had undercooked in about the same ratio.

Called in this morning on way to station. Family of clampets ordering every pasty under the sun at counter. Queue of people behind them holding everyone up. Both tills at front of shop closed. One person on the serving counter serving food and taking money. The counter is for serving food and should not be used to take money as well. The tills should be open to take the money. Handling food and money is unhygienic, should be a different person doing each thing.

Saturday lunchtime... female member of staff at the counter, late 50s early 60s, roots dyed grey, gaunt, looks like she doesn't enjoy the produce. Very rude to my daughter and poor attitude when I corrected her. Really doesn't enjoy her job. Food satisfactory.
