Shocking isn’t the word.Moved to st.helen just under a year ago, decided to go here for lunch on Sunday afternoon as the reviews looked good. However, the food&service we experienced from here today may possibly be the worst i’ve ever received anywhere in a long time.We were sat in a room away from the bar area, where one other table was, they had their mains and was ordering desserts. We (2 of us!) waited 45 minutes for our order. When we asked a young girl why it had taken so long, she stated the kitchens response was ‘the kitchen have too many checks on’. Okay? well simple customer service would be to inform ordering guests of a wait on food surely? When the food eventually came out, it wasn’t even worth the wait. I ordered the sunday roast which was missing 2 items stated off the menu, the gravy may as well of been salt water. Sourdough bread was cold. Other meal was the german sausage burger, but came as a small pork sausage in some white bread? no sauce as stated on the menu either. Not one member of staff apologised for the wait or asked how our food was. Place wasn’t clean eitherAbsolutely appalling and never again would I waste my time dining here.

We were at a funeral the other day. My friend who had organised the wake needed some IT assistance with photos and music. We were abley assisted by a lovely young man called Ryan who was kind, polite and very courteous to us all. He was able to help. The place was clean, the staff was helpful and friendly and the food was good. Plenty of parking all made the experience much more bearable.

Good food and good prices too. Great in summer and a nice shelter from the weather in winter.

The food is excellent. Really excellent. Really enjoyed the food. Presentation was good. But won't be going back. The room has a double outside door that doesn't close properly, and it was drafty and cold. The menu is quite bizarre, the concept of small Dishes and large dishes used, an odd concept as the small dishes operated like Indian street food. And the large dishes like a traditional English menu. As a result we got food in a really odd order, was getting the small dishes, what we would consider a starter after the main meal. The staff where rushed off their feet. Obviously not been taught any edicate and protocol, like not clearing the table when people are still eating. It took 30 minutes to serve all the dishes. There were five of us.This could have been a superb experience.

Called for a coffee and a bacon on toast while I was on a morning walk.Served by a lovely young lady and the food was nice too. Lovely surroundings(overlooking the cricket pitch),and reasonably-priced too. Definitely worth a re-visit.💙💙💙💙

Not great unfortunately. Over an hour and a half wait for food, and then starter and main course arrive at the same time. Ended up having to put starters on the chair to eat them as no room on the table!Had Sunday roasts and the beef was inedible on two of the dinners as just wasn’t cooked. Tiny portions.Staff were great & didn’t charge for the 2 inedible dinners. Explained chef has left and they have a temp. Really wouldn’t recommend going until they have it sorted.Had been wanting to try this place for ages as had heard great things, but really disappointed.
