The Bull And Dog in St. Helens

Went to watch the boxing but it wasn't on so we didn't stay long. Good selection of beers on tap and the bar staff were nice and friendly. The regulars were a bit put out because we sat in their corner. As soon as we finished our drinks, they approached us and asked if we were going. They made it clear that they always sit where we are and started moving their drinks over. They even got some kitchen roll to clean the table 😂 good job we weren't staying 😂 nice pub though

Food was superb & staff very welcoming & friendly. Looking forward to our next visit.

First time we've had a meal here and it was really good. The nacho sharer starter was the best we've ever had.

4 of us had a delicious meal yesterday would definitely recommend and will be returning again soon.

The meals are amazing, be prepared to wait a little while because it's cooked to order. I can't remember the lady who served us last week but she couldn't do enough for us and was so pleasant. And just a little extra the Guinness is spot on too.

We was greeted at the door and seated right away. The food was really good and the staff were friendly and table service was great. We will be going again soon. Thanks you

We arrived and parked our car in the car park and were going to get a drink before getting onto the coach to go to the Grand Final, but before we could we were told by the pubs rep that if we were going to the game we couldn't use the car park. As such I parked up the road 50 yards away and we did not patronise the pub with 6 drinks and snacks as a result of being told this. Their excuse was that people would be wanting to use the car park as they arrived to watch the game in the pub itself. Clearly anyone using the car park could drink to stay legal so this was an exaggeration in our view. One of our friends who did watch the game at the pub reported to us on leaving that there was plenty of room in the car park immediately before and after the game. So we won't be using the Bull and Dog anymore which is a shame but what goes around comes around!

Great meal, I had the stilton chicken and it was so very nice, my partner had mushroom stroganoff and said it was fantastic. We will be back, proper food cooked well and not a microwave in sight

This is a great pub that is surprisingly spacious the food here has always gone down well swift service you're well looked after by the team. Sport events are usually on the TV's there's seating outside and good beverages to. All in all a nice place to visit.
