Pub wasn't empty and last orders had not been called, however still early, bartender was quite rude in agreeing to serve the 3 of us a pint and was reluctant to agree to pour a 2nd even though it seemed that regulars were being served fine on taps that had not already been cleaned.Update: after we had our 2nd round some older gentlemen were refused their order at 22:10 then advised that they believed last orders were at 22:30 to which the bartender agreed. Seems that employees here (at least the one at the time of reviewing this) are more interested in closing up and leaving early.

Lovely pub, it’s been a while since I’ve been in but I remember enjoying my experience there.

Called in for a quick drink before catching the train, quiet with a few nice gins to choose from

Really good Tapas at a fair price. Great atmosphere with friendly attentive staff. This is becoming one of our regular haunts !

Oh my! The TAPAS at The Millstone are fantastic! We love that the menu is so extensive and there is so much to choose from. We have eaten here a few times now and the food has always been excellent. The staff are friendly and there's a really relaxed friendly atmosphere in the pub. We'd highly recommend this place for eating.

Terrible meal experience. Waited 90 minutes for food. The staff are very young, untrained and indifferent. The food was rubbish. An expensive tasteless rubbery steak and a soggy pizza. Believe me avoid this place it's awful.

Newton's not exactly drowning in good places to eat in, so we gave the Millstone a go and were really impressed. It wasn't exactly obvious how to get food (could do with menu's on the tables round the bar) and earlier on it still felt a bit local pub-ish (mainly as everyone was huddled round the bar), but once we got a table (it's quite small so on busy nights you need to book) the food was excellent. We're big fans of Tapas and this rivalled many of the best we've had in the cities (the black pudding was amazing) so I'd highly recommend it. Great night out in a very nicely refurbished old pub.
