The Nelson in St. Helens

visited on friday 18th march 2022 for Cheltenham gold cup day. had some drinks and ordered the fish and chips . great food. really enjoyed it

We used to really enjoy going to the Nelson just after it had been refurbished, it was always consistently good, but just lately, we have noticed the quality of the food has dropped off a little and not as hot as it should be, we ordered fish and chips, I should also mention here that when we are eating food, we shouldn't have to put up with a lady sitting opposite to us, thinking she is entitled to smoke an e cigarette!

Very friendly atmosphere food competitively priced and good quality would recommend

Nice establishment. However had issues with other customers about my children being in the pub. The policy about kids only being allowed in if you buy a meal for them is ridiculous.

Fantastic atmosphere, food is always excellent. Looking forward to our Christmas lunch next week. Highly recommend the pub

Lovely pub, busy at times, but worth a go.

Pub and a chippy in one.. Better pubs and Chippies around if you don't mind separating the experiences.

Brilliant place to go not just for a drink gorgeous food and staff are friendly can't fault it at all

Fantastic pub. Service is always with a smile. Always a bonus when chippy is attached to help soak up the lovely beer i have been drinking too
