Toby Carvery Waterside in St. Helens

Carvery hardly warm, hardly anything left apart from ham or turkey. Turkey was dry...Came for a Birthday meal, so very disappointed...I have been before a few times with no problems...Disabled loo flush chain was unreachable to wheelchair users...On top of all that, myself and both my adult guests all had servere food poisoning!!!... Hope it changes hands soon. The staff were friendly, but clearly clueless.

Having been today, I was thinking about whether I would be back here after all I had experienced.Being in gents toilet if we could called for it as a toilet?-urgent action for general /upgrade,the fan on the celling was dirty the filter hadn't been cleaned for ages I suppose.All tiles and facilities need to stripped down and replaced..One waiter who was extremely 'over friendly ' waited as we should go by finish lunch the way as it was collecting stuff from table were as we should read between lines guys please go.The mum with children has ordered a meal so that she had to wait for a such long time.Some of food at the carvery counter was cold,roasted potatoes were overcooked literally a little burned.I'm sorry for harsh review but sometimes, something must be noticed and highlighted.

Great little place to eat. Carvery food was lovely. Setting even though on an extremely busy dual carriage way is lovely, especially with the lake to look out onto, would give the feeling that your actually more rural. Staff were amazing and helpful.

This is a review on the carvery quality if you aren't there to chose your own beef and order a delivery. Your dog will be happy, you won't. Unless you're vegetarian, in which case its not bad. Just don't expect much meat with your gristle. Based on 3 seperate, terrible experiences. I mean, it's just their stock in trade🤦‍♀️🤡

Went here for Christmas Dinner omg I’ve never ever been so disappointed. Waited half an hour before anyone came to our table they did after we raised our hands and asked the guy behind the bar if anyone could take our order although plenty of staff walking about. No Christmas atmosphere a cracker on the table that was it. Waited another 45 mins before our starters arrived. It was a whole 2 hours before we got up to the carvery yes you e guessed it no lamb dry turkey cold potatoes an absolute disgrace. Place was freezing food was bad I mean real bad. We go to Toby Carvery every year and this one has to the the worst place to go. Didn’t stay for dessert didn’t see the point of waiting any longer we had children with us who after 3 hours just wanted to go home. Christmas dinner wasn’t cheap here cost us just short of £300 for a cold miserable meal with no festive cheer whatsoever and yes I know you will blame covid you had enough staff to supply customer service one was even polishing forks while we waited and waited and waited.

The food tasted nice but was cold except for roast potatoes. I asked for crackling to go with my pork but just cut some fat off the top. Staff were friendly but didn't once ask us if everything was ok, used to be lovely, sorry to say i won't be going back.

Attended the breakfast with Santa today. Excellent value for money. The set up was beautiful and included full buffet breakfast. Activities for the children. They loved it. Thankyou so much. Staff were also very friendly and helpful. 🎅

Really nice food and the staff were friendly which is a bonus nowhere to sit and have a drink later which I am sure used to be a feature ! Otherwise it would have been five stars from me

Went for a cheeky midweek Carvery and all the meats were just simply waiting for me. I had them all, no excuses. Mac and cheese was divine, so was the turkey, of course. Friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. 20 quid for 2 adults and a 16 month old who was fed scraps, whilst he tried to scale the table and escape his highchair.. Would go again

Had a lovely family carvery, plates piled high. Kids enjoyed it. Not too busy for a Sunday. They do really good all you can eat breakfast to will definately be coming back. 🙂
