Pleasant decor....decent food...though slow service..understaffed?

Lovely pub, staff friendly.Allowed dogs :).Best nachos and cheese I've ever had:).Well worth the wait!! X

The new landlady Hayley is doing a great job with the pub. After speaking to her she has some great ideas, I think she will really make this pub a local gem again. The food starts soon and the menu looks great. I for one can't wait to taste it all. All the best Hayley, we will be back very soon to try the new food.

Was really looking forward to eating here, heard the burgers were great and we come to the area regularly after cycling. 5 of us Ordered the Chicken burger and as they all started coming out they looked amazing. Only for the last one to come was in an English muffin and the server said “sorry we’ve run out of brioche buns so we have given you this’” It would have gone a long way just to come and ask whether this was suitable before bringing it to the table where I was put on the spot to take it as it was already put together.Then as we were paying I overheard the server say to someone else who was ordering the burger; “I’m sorry we have run out of brioche buns, would you prefer a English muffin or a ciabatta as a substitute?” I would have happily accepted a ciabatta if I was given the opportunity to.It really is a shame as we would’ve definitely come to this place again, however because of my experience I don’t think we will. The food was good but the customer service was lacking.

The food is top notch, great atmosphere, amazing staff. My daughter must have sat at the bar for 40 minutes speaking to one of the barmaids and she was enthusiastic about it the whole time. That is a staff member that is a credit to an establishment.

Nice pub with outside seating but slightly small inside, would be great in summer, as its 2 minutes from a duck lake, dog friendly and staff were lovely

Nice welcoming, friendly pub that serves some decent cask ales and good pub grub. They even have a "Golden oldies" menu at very reasonable prices for those with smaller appetites.

Friendly staff, delicious food andWonderful Service. Would definitely recommend this cosy pub.My friend and I had just finished a lovely nature walk around Etherow Country Park but their cafe had closed. Luckily we managed to find this hidden gem on google.Thank you for having us. Xx
