Good fish and chips and vfm

Cold food and badly prepared ended up having to go to another nearby chippy as it was so bad.

They prefer phoned orders and discourage walk-in orders, by ignoring them. (20 mins) When we were finally served, the food was ok although the mushy peas were not that mushy. Went on the comment of a friend, not sure I will repeat the experience.

BEST CHIPPY IN GREATER MANCHESTER. I have just gone to chippy heaven, if there is such a place!!!!! Proper chippy chips but not a drop of grease, and the fish... was absolutely DIVINE. I'm talking melt in your mouth goodness.My 4 year old even devoured it (not happy I had to share!!!!).

Really disappointed in the Fish dock yesterday. We were looking forward to going back to our fav chippy as they seemed to have a good plan in place to ensure it was safe to collect meals. But they got greedy and over booked the slots, I got our order 30 mins after our allotted time so I had to stand with a group of probably 15 other people waiting for their order completely defeating the object of social distancing and minimal social contact. Many many delivery drivers came by to collect meals and one of them even shook the hand of someonewho was stood waiting. No gloves. I'm not sure the person recieving the delivery would be pleased knowing that. I want to see local businesses do well, but this was just sheer greed, the food was really sub standard too.

Appauling. I was initially served by a young girl who was extremely polite as are all the staff in this shop however the manager came in and began to speak to his staff in the most disgusting manner, the girl serving me looked extremely upset and embarrassed which was obviously very uncomfortable to witness for a paying customer. The girl had to walk out from sight from her upset and the manager began to take over my food order instead, he said “you just can’t get the staff these days,” so bravely before then sending me on my way with my food which then when I arrived home I realised he had done my order completely wrong. I asked for cheese and onion pie with chips and curry sauce and was given a meat pie. I AM A VEGETARIAN!!!!!!!! I can not believe what has happened. He attacked and bullied his own staff and then proceeded to make a huge mistake himself by giving a vegetarian a meat pie! Unbelievable disgusting behaviour

This is the worst chippy I have been to. The portion sizes were tiny, hardly any chips and this fish was more like a fishfinger than a piece of cod. The order was wrong (asked for chips with gravy and got chips with peas on top). Unfortunately wont be going back.

Really didn't want to write a bad review but, as we walked in the service was quite slow. The manager asked us if we wanted fish, to which we replied yes and ordered one haddock ..... Fast forward 15 minutes - the 2 lrg chips, gravy and pies were on the hotplate ready to go ..... Five minutes later, the manager came over and explained the fish was going to take a further 5 mins, because we didn't order is when asked.... We of course explained that we had but he didn't listen..... Another 5 mins later the full order now includes 1 hot fish and cold foods that spent 15 minutes on a hot plate. Obviously we request fresh food...... The manager wasnt happy and started to tell his staff off for HIS mistake!!! Appalling to witnessI live 2 mins in a car - when we got home we found that only the chips had been replaced - pie and gravy stone cold!! And there was cling film in my Fish!!!Other things noted:You can not sit down, unless youre eating in - when the shop is empty and you're waiting 20 minutes for food - seems a little unfair.Only 2 kids meals per 1 full paying meal.Can't use the cafe unless you spend over £5No card payments unless over £12I took the food back to the shop, after a dispute over what is classed as a foreign body.... I DID receive a full refund minus the drinks.Needless to say I won't be returning and will be telling people not to use!!

I would recommend this for anyone as the food is lovely and the atmosphere is very welcoming. After working here for nearly 3 years it's such a family atmosphere as much as they are younger member of staff this doesn't mean that they are incapable of doing their jobs, which many people think and alot of people look down on this which is very frustrating. We do train our members of staff to do the job well but remember we are only human and we will occasionally make mistakes. The manager of this esblishment hasn't changed over the past 20 years and still is as loving and caring to every customer, meal and staff member. With regards to the sit in side of the business this is a new part in the shop and they are still finding there feet and trying to accomadate to everyone and we do take note of people's advice. If you do have any recommendations on how you would like us to adapt in any way please feel free to come in and have a conversation. With regards to the comment on the hierarchy with the staff members everyone is treated the same and no one is singled out in any way, shape or form there are different jobs everyone does in the shop to make it run smoothly and that's how it has been since the boss started running Fishdock and even previously ladybrook fish bar. I can say until he changes hands it will always be a lovely place to eat.

As I am ill my parents came to stay and wanting fish and chips recommended that my dad got fish supper from here, They were the best fish & chips we've had - sublime he said! Just want to get better so I can treat myself again. Hot curry is pretty good too!
