Worst Sunday roast I've ever had. The meat was OK an the roasties but everything else was disgusting. Didn't get a refund they could only offer us a free pint each. I'd never go back again. 1 star is for the meat n roasties

Me and my fiancé went for a Sunday roast and I can honestly say it was the worst dinner I have ever had. The potatoes were purple, the cauliflower was scabby and the turkey was bruised plus the gravy was tasteless. The best part of the dinner was the roast potatoes but we were only served 2 each. I wouldn’t go back there if it was free with a free pint. Shocking.

We have driven past this place on numerous occasions and today decided to have a meal here. There was 4 adults and 3 children. The kids meals were amazing with a free drink and ice cream. The adult mains were huge, and great quality and none of us could finish their meals. One of the best steaks I've had in a long while. The staff were great and a lovely atmosphere. Would highly recommend and we will certainly be coming here again.

AVOID! Parking Fine £100.Its very sad that I have to post a negative review, but I feel I have no choice.My wife and I visited the pub on our way home from work for a drink and meal. What a mistake that was! The pub was almost empty with no atmosphere and we found ourselves occupiers of one of only 3 tables. We wondered why… now 2 months on we completely understand why?It started badly as the staff were surly and inattentive and appeared to not want to be there at all. After ordering some drinks at the bar we decided that we would drink up and eat elsewhere, in no small part also due to the loud music playing which, rather than creating a relaxing atmosphere, appeared to be for the benefit of the staff.Several weeks after visiting the pub we received a parking fine for £100. This came out of the blue. At no time we’re we asked by staff for our registration number or advised that parking was strictly controlled and we needed to take action.We appealed the fine showing the receipt from our visit. But it was rejected by the parking company. So what should have been a relaxing evening has now become our last visit.

Lovely pub, lovely atmosphere and lovely staff.I was dismayed to read such a negative review by someone quite recently who has clearly taken offence to a parking charge. In a time of great unrest for pubs and restaurants people like shouldn't be allowed out so I felt compelled to say how lovely this place is.There are so many parking notices around the pub so maybe the lady needs to invest in a pair of glasses.Food is always lovely, we had the steak baguette and firecracker chicken. Highly recommend so please give this place a visit if you are local or in the area.5 StarsMrs McManus

Very pleasant interior; welcoming staff who were not intrusive but were very attentive, intelligent, customer focused and they anticipated my needs. Food was top quality to match the service. All in all, an excellent experience.

Hi to all those who received parking penalties. Don't pay it, contact the parking company, contact the brewery and tell them to take you to court. Never pay cash in this dump so you have it on record through your bank statement. When you tell them that you refuse to pay as you were a customer, don't forget to mention that when it goes to court that you will also be seeking compensation for undue stress and illegal charges. I did this and it didn't even get to court because they backed down. As long as you have proof of purchase from this disgusting place you will never have to pay any parking charge. Stand your ground, it won't go anywhere. They can't stand me giving this advice to everyone as my review of this place keeps disappearing. They can take it down as much as they want, I'll just keep on posting it. Just had automated response 10 minutes after posting. Don't bother replying when they send you this, just carry on with challenging them. 😇

We decided to visit on a Sunday during half term, despite the mixed reviews. Had a really good meal that was great value.I found the place via a Google search for a carvery, so I was a bit disappointed to see that the carvery is 'closed until further notice.' However, our server told us straight away about the plated roast dinner options available so we chose the beef and it did not disappoint. We received generous plates of beautifully cooked food, and were offered extra gravy.The kids meals were of a decent size and the deal to include their drink and ice cream was really excellent value. The ice cream was also not the average soft scoop- it was delicious, quality dairy ice cream.Obviously don't know the details of what caused offence to some who have left negative reviews but I'm sure the hospitality industry has already had enough hassle over the last 18+ months. I'd say give this place a try and if you have an issue, raise it privately before you tell the Google world. 😉PS: There were notices EVERYWHERE about the parking (including outside), plus staff asked us verbally whether we had inputted our car details on the console. We have kept our receipt just in case...

Went in for something to eat last night, never been there before, I liked it , very roomy ,clean and comfortable pub, the menu options were also excellent and our choices were fresh tasting and properly cooked.The staff were very friendly and attentive and even brought a bowl of water for our dog without asking!We sat in the main pub area as dining area prohibited to dogs ( quite rightly) .All in all a very good experience and we will be back.
