Happiness Chinese Takeaway in Stockport

Okay so generally I like this place and the staff are friendly enough. The food is good and the salt and pepper chips is amazing. My 1 star review is because of what I witnessed today and as I feel people need to know what goes on in there.I walked in to find a huge box on the floor with prawn crackers. 3 men were packing them into tiny plastic bags for sale. No gloves were used. Now benefit of the doubt I don't know if they had washed their hands or not. It's what happened after.I made my order and waited,2 men walked in and they seemed to know the staff. They joined in their chat and just started grabbing prawn crackers and started packing them into tiny bags. The staff were just there happy to chat while this was going on. No gloves no hand washing and one of the younger was doing some other things in the back came back and just started digging in.It's the most disgusting scene.. Unwashed hands grabbing these prawns with haste shoving them in bags. They must have noticed my disgust and asked me if I'm okayI said I'm shocked but before I would explain,the staff man just started speaking to another man in a different language. Laughing there like it's okay. I am disappointed I didn't speak up more but to be honest I just wanted to leave.I can't imagine a place I liked so much had such a lack of standards when it comes to cleanliness and food hygiene. I feel sorry for anyone who buys prawn crackers on uber eats not knowing what happens here. I can't imagine how food is treated in the kitchen. I really do like the food but now I'm sorry I won't be going back. If anyone can just walk in and handle food customers are buying in guise of "helping" no gloves no hand washing sorry but you've lost a customer here and people need to know.I wish I took photos I would post just beware.

Fantastic food, this is my new go to place for Chinese food. The lunch time specials are great too, I highly recommend the Super Charger Chicken burger. the share box is amazing, it fed us as a family of 4 no problems. You won't be disappointed believe me. :-)

Won a share box from Happiness City, the food was fresh, full of flavour and the staff were lovely. The salt and pepper chicken was to die for. For once I have found a Chinese that do Chinese curry that actually has a kick and full of flavour. Fried rice was lovely and fresh too! Thank you 😍

Definitely our go to Chinese! Used these guys for years and they get better and better! We won the share box from the Facebook giveaway and was made up and ordered it since, definitely recommend!

The proprietor is a very kind, chatty and pleasant man. The share box I got was absolutely delicious and very generous portions, will deffo be back 😊
