This is a great coffee shop. With freshly cooked food, that can be ordered by people with specific dietary requirements. Plus the coffee is very nice too.

So, I am a student at Manchester Metropolitan University and I am a local lad who lives with his parents in Cheadle Hulme. On Saturday 30th November 19 I decided to go into the village and find somewhere to work. I stumbled across Costa however my internet wouldn't work in there and it was so loud as it was absolute pandemonium. So, I immediately went across the way and found Hudson's. It was bliss, working internet, nice and peaceful & lovely clientele. I stayed in there for 4 hours ordering two drinks and a ham and cheese toasty. I thought to myself that this is a lovely base of operations for my uni work.Today is the 4th December 19 and this literally just happened. I decided to go to do some work again and I got to Hudsons for 12pm. I immediately ordered a hot chocolate upon arrival. 30 minutes in my brother arrived and he too ordered a coffee before having to leave. It was 1:20pm, I was completely minding my own business and happily working away with my headphones in when the owner of the coffee shop came over and tapped me on the shoulder. She said "if you're not going to order anything then you need to leave. "I responded saying "I've already ordered a drink and I plan to order food I’m just not hungry yet."She then said in a really snipey tone "well you are using my internet."So, without hesitation I packed up my things, told her how rude she'd been and headed straight back to Costa opposite. The atmosphere and the internet were the factors that attracted me to work there in the first place. I fully understand that orders need to be taken but I believe the orders I had made so far (especially for one person) covered the amount of time I'd spent in there. Not to mention that I was planning on spending many more hours in there over the coming weeks and as a result spending much more money getting my lunch and drinks.I can't believe that someone running an independent coffee shop opposite a huge chain like Costa would talk to one of their customers like that.I don't plan on going back and I will continue to do my uni work in Costa from now on.

A gem of a place with scrumptious sweet goodies and a good cup of coffee... Fresh, delicious, reasonably priced and very clean. Owner is warm and friendly, and the service is friendly. Been here several times and will continue to go back. Beats all the large coffee house chains, any day! Long live the independent businesses!!

Great coffee. Popped in today late afternoon (november 15th) with 3 other ladies. We werd spoilt for choice with the cakes. The lady serving was very and explained witch was witch. They even had a gluten fee option.A pot of tea, americano, latte and a hot chocolate. All served with a good slice of fruit cake, to die for, a millianair short cake, scrumptious and two well toasted tea cakes. This was a loveley afternoon. All for a small price. Will be returning soon. Thank you to the lady serving who made us very wellcome.

I call I at Hudsons about one every two weeks on my way home from an appointment. I like the friendly, relaxed atmosphere and the chance to read a newspaper, as well as sampling the tea and cakes.
