Superb pub/restaurant from the stable of almond pubs. Beautifully furnished inside with lots of space outside for enjoying the garden area, plenty of parking.Great range of cask, continental & craft beers on the well stocked bar. Really friendly staff and a food menu which appeared very popular & busy at time of visit so be prepared to book.

Great place. We only went in for some drinks with a 5 week old baby. Struggled to find a seat with room for the buggy but the staff were so helpful. They even provided me with a flask for hot water so I could feed to baby will definitely be back again for food as it looked delicious!

Great local pub which serves food and drink. Extensively refurbished to a high standard a few years ago. The staff are friendly and efficient, making you welcome. The pub is an asset to the area.

Food was very nice, may be a shortage of staff was the culprit for the reduced level of attentiveness, but overall okay. Lovely venue, bit cold seated near the entrance. Was unable to sample the ale due to being in charge of a motor vehicle.

I have had many carveries at many places, this one was definitely the best. Perfectly cooked, not over or under done and a wide choice. The staff are excellent. Very friendly and polite. Definitely going back and highly recommend the Jolly Sailor.

We went four of us to eat there at lunch time. Big pub with ample parking. Spacious inside. Definitely no chain pub food! Food very nice and certainly the fish of the "fish and chips" was enormous and the fish very chunky. I had the beef and blue cheese pie. Sadly mine had nice beef but not much blue cheese, barely tasted it. Carvery looks fantastic. Good service.

Lovely pub, fantastic food with good vege and vegan options. There were meat eaters, veggies and vegans in our group and all were happy. Even had a fish pie with the carvery veg! We were served by Freya and Luke, super helpful and attentive without being overbearing. Just right! There was a good atmosphere in the pub which was busy but not rammed and everything was well run, clean and efficient. All in all a very positive experience and I look forward to going back again!

Popped in for lunch as it was near to vaccination centre ! Very pleasant experience. Its part of the Almond family pub chain, but being part of a chain doesn't distract form the experience. Good greeting at the door, good menu choice including carvery. Food arrived piping hot. Good quality ingredients and well cooked. Nice desserts. Decent selection of ales. Bit more expensive than a 'spoons but you get what you pay for. Staff were all competent, friendly and attentive. We will return.

I have been taking my mum and dad here for a few weeks now since I moved in to the area. They love it, my dog loves it and I love it. Every single member of staff is always very welcoming and friendly and take the time to come and chat with us and say hello to the dog (Dougie). We are yet to try the food but it always looks great when it is brought out.
