Matt's Plaice in Stockport

Had fish and chips for 17 last evening. Matt and his staff were brilliant,and the fish and chips were really good. We all enjoyed them and can’t wait for the next time. Thanks Matt and staff.The Pembroke party group. X

13/06/2022. Ordered fish chips and peas, normally anyone with common sense asks you do you want them separate or all together. Not knowing whose order the girl was wrapping. Got home and discovered she poured rhe peas over all the chips which looked like the meal was involved in a car crash, straight in the bin. Had toast instead.

Chicken Madras with Chips is superb, Homemade, just make sure you are very specific with telephone orders, can get very busy at Tea Time.

Best chippy that I have been too. Fish is excellent.

Always read about it so tonight i decided to try it out... very satisfied just the right amount of chips for my liking and the fish was nicely cooked a light batter and a solid piece of fish. Recommended

It Was a Good chippy but seems to of gone downhill alot, food has gone very downhill for what you pay, and can I ask where Maureen has gone? I have not seen her in the shop since before lockdown? She is my favourite server! She is one of the main reasons I used to go in apart from the food? I have no reason to visit now 😔

Seems a popular chippy, went just after opening time on Saturday and we had to cue outside, granted there were only about 10 customers in (that should give you a clue of the size) but I took this as a good sign. Waiting time was short as the 3 ladies on the counter were very quick and efficient. The fish was the best I've had in a while, tasty crunchy batter that wasn't greasy and lovely perfectly cooked fresh fish, but after such an impressive start I was disappointed with the chips, they were the soft greasy limp efforts that you get from a poor Chinese chippy, if they could match the chips to the same level as the fish, they'd have one of the best chippies in 50 mile radius possibly even the country.
