Great sausage bap and lovely Earl Grey tea

I regularly visit here with friends and family. Great sandwiches (I recommend the mozzarella, tomato and pesto or cheese, ham and caramelized onion chutney) and a wonderful range of tasty cakes. The music is a fantastic, eclectic mix that really sets the mood. We've always had great service and a friendly smile, no stress or rushing. A wander around the emporium afterwards is always a treat!

First visit today with 7 friends. What a great place. Obviously visitors with negative reviews went on an off day because we got great service. Great choice of drinks and food. The crockery was really quirky. Spent a good hour browsing the Emporium afterwards. Will definitely return.

Waited nearly 60 minutes after placing order. Drinks arrived and still no food ! No attempt made to then deal appropriately...just ignored. It has a monopoly in the emporium and so seem to brush it off. Saw other customers also complaining.

Lovely tea room with great cakes and a wide selection of teas. Not sure about service, bit hit and miss. Young staff are very helpful but quite terse and strict older staff which was a bit off putting.

Went to pear mill today and went in the cafe. I have been there a few times, apart from paying £3 for two slices of toast the old woman who I presume is the owner is really rude. She is on the backs of the young staff continuously. Your plates are taken away before you have the chance to put down the cutlery. She sits there ready to pounce as soon as you have finished. One poor lad only started today and I had a word with him and wished him good luck. Will definitely not be visiting the cafe again !!!!!!

Had a trial shift here and the two women owners are some of the nastiest people I've ever met. Wanted to pay me £2 below minimum hourly wage, and cash in hand, all very dodgy. Was spoken to like dirt the whole time - you'd think they were running The Ritz the way they go on. Exploitative practises totally at odds with the cosy vibe they're trying to portray.

I don't quite care what the tea tastes like here. I wouldn't visit this place in a million years given the owners response to some recent feedback on Facebook from the local community.She sounds like a horrid person that quite literally abuses her staff. Visit at your own peril and make your own decision.

Great little tea room. Fruit pies are excellent and the freshly made sandwiches and sausage muffins are excellent.Good service from the young staff.Well worth a visit to the cafe anytime.

The fabulous vintage team rooms is open again ! Have a browse around the vintage emporium then relax in the tea room with some lovely food, cake and drinks . Lovely friendly staff .
