Have been many times and always enjoyed the visit. Went on Saturday of the jubilee and not quite as good as we had expected. We were told we had to order food more or less straight away and also each course was brought before we were half way through the one we were having.. The people on the table near us were asked if they were ready for each course. We brought this up when the waitress asked if everything was ok as lots of food had been left. She said she would see what she could do. Never heard from her again. What we ate of the food was lovely but no time to eat it all before they are bringing out the remaining order. Our bill for two was over £114 so won’t be going there again. Waitress service is not what it used to be!!

We had our small wedding reception @ Piccolo. The food was amazing, the staff were all so lovely, it was organised without any major hassle either! It was a great experience and we will be back!

Nice food. However we arrived at lunch time and the restaurant was practically empty. It took ages for the food to arrive and when it did arrive, it did not contain the promised ingredient so we had to reorder (and waited additional of 30 minutes?

Great service. Friendly welcoming staff.Bruchetta starter could have been a little better as tomatoes cold - better room temperature. Main meal very good.A little expensive but, then again, what and where isn't these days.

It's not the first time that I've dined here, nor will it be the last. This time I was with my family, that's my 2 daughters, 6 grandchildren, my brother and his wife. My daughter's aunt was also invited together with her sister and her husband. The food, as ever was delicious and plenty of it. We had a number of different main courses off the a la Carte menu. The grandchildren even had starters. I very wisely skipped the starters, I'm not a very big eater, besides, I needed to leave room for one of their fantastic desserts. Well, it was a celebration of the family being together , which is a rare treat. The drinks were excellent, I was drinking Peroni, lovely and cold. The ladies were sampling the delights of a bottle or two of the Pinot Grigio, whilst the children enjoyed a selection of soft drinks. Our waitress was kept busy, the only time that she could have a quick five minutes was when we all had our main courses. Note, these were all served within a minute of each other, no having to start eating whilst one of us was still waiting to be served. No, the service was excellent, with a smile, very good with the children, age range from 7 to 14 years old. You can imagine the questions, what's this like and that? What drinks have you got? What if I don't like it? Honestly, she had the patience of a saint.Nothing was ever too much trouble to her and always she had a smile on her face. Apart from that, she didn't let our tables become full of empty glasses or bottles. They were removed very quickly , no mess, that's exactly how I like it.When we had finished eating, she politely asked if she could begin to clear the plates, when that was done she gave it a few minutes before asking if we required dessert menus, drinks etc.A very definite yes was the answer, in both cases. All in all, it was a splendid afternoon, good food, drinks, wonderful company and excellent service. The bill was very reasonable given the number of meals and drinks. That was settled by myself, very quickly, well I'm not going to let my daughters have to pay for dining with me. Nor was I going to allow my brother or the rest of the company do so.I had a very enjoyable day. The waitress, was amply rewardedfor her wonderful service and the manner in which she simply interacted with my grandchildren. I think that they now regard her as one of their best friends.Would I recommend Piccolo Italian Restaurant and Bar? Most certainly, without hesitation. It's an absolute gem of a restaurant, quality food and drink at very reasonable prices. What's more, they don't skimp on the size of the portions, and that includeschildrens meals.I've already said that the service is excellent with food and drinks to match. It is a popular restaurant and does get very busy at the weekends, so make sure that you book in advance, if that is the time that you wish to dine. Enjoy!

First visit, and was excited to go due to other reviews. However overall I was disappointed. Whilst the atmosphere and decor was nice, I felt overlooked by the staff (had to constantly chase for drinks, food etc), and the food was average. Greasy lasagna, bland tasting lamb shank. The carbonara was the better dish out of the three. We waited approx an hour for our starters of garlic bread and dough balls! Maybe just a one off poor experience but it would take a lot of convincing for me to return.

Very nice food. Lots to choose from. Bit pricey. Friendly staff. Would be nice to receive free nibbles with first drink order before actually ordering food. Also would be nice to get free mint or chocolate after a meal. It's the little things I missed.

Weeder a lovely Italian, friendly staff, delicious food, reasonable price and a car park over the road. What more could you want?Staff were happy to help, the first table we sat at was a bit draughty, they were happy to assist and move us. 👍🏻We ordered two pasta dishes and a garlic bread to share. The food was piping hot and arrived quickly. We were in this area on a mini-moon and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.Couldn't recommend highly enough; we left a generous tip.Thanks.
