I visit this pub frequently but on Friday I met a few friends here who have not been before. They loved it. The staff were amazing and made us all welcome, especially Charleymay who went that extra mile. She kept checking we were all ok & asked if we needed anymore drinks. She made conversation with us & I personally felt very valued as a customer. She has such a lovely friendly manner about her & she definitely enhanced our night out. My friends are now asking when are we going back.

Ellie was really lovely. Not always had a good experience with waiting staff or with front of house, but this time it was really pleasant. She was attentive and ensured all was ok. So young, so pretty and so professional. A rare combination these days. Even the gentleman who welcomed me at the entrance. Although he was busy on the phone dealing with a customer, he acknowledged me and politely indicated that he will be with me shortly. That hasn’t always happen either.

Went for a meal for a birthday, 6 of us including a child. Everything was just so slow, ended up being there for 3 hours with only 2 drinks, ordered a drink but 30 minutes later there was no sign of it, waiting for the bill at the end took an age and then waiting for someone to actually accept payment took even longer. It wasn't particularly busy, plenty of staff milling about, everything just took so much time. Food was pleasant enough and the building itself looks great but the service is painfully slow.

Whilst the staff were very nice the service was extremely slow due to a lack of them. Some of them seemed very new and did not appear to have had any training. We made the booking many weeks before but it had not been inputted. We called again to be told we couldn’t have our original time due to high demand. When we came in there seemed to be a lot of empty tables so we were unsure as to why this should have been. We had to wait for a drinks service and eventually gave up and went to the bar where there was a ten minute wait for a drink. A number of items were unavailable both on the food and drink side. The server at the table was nice and courteous but seemed to be swimming against the tide due to food items being off. The food when it arrived was average at best. We have had far nicer Sunday diners in the area far more reasonably priced. When it came to paying the bill we were unable to leave a tip because the till did not accept that. Even though our experience was not that good we still believe in rewarding the staff who did their best under difficult circumstances. All in all we won’t be rushing back.

The order was completely wrong and badly cooked. This was then replaced and was still wrong. The manager in the end did give us a substantial discount. It was totally the fault of the kitchen. To be honest if you cannot cook a steak then there is no hope. The restaurant was very quiet and so there was no pressure on service. Unfortunately after I had booked a couple of my friends told me they had had similar experiences. Very sad, lovely venue, nice staff, terrible food.

Friendly welcoming; clean, warm and relaxing atmosphere; serving was very good we enjoyed our meal and drinks; price was reasonable. Not like garlic bread, hardly was garlic on it and was over done. However we have had nice and pleasant time. Thank you to all staff.

We had booked a table for a family Sunday dinner. We arrived and were taken to our table and handed menus. Table was set for 8/10 people, there were 4 of us, it was far too big, in a large side room with families and their screaming young children.Only after our drinks had been ordered and delivered and ready to order were we were told, quite unbelievably that they had run out of roast dinners! No apology. Just matter of fact. Why aren’t you prepared for Sundays. I don’t consider my vegetarian wellington to be a roast anyway. In addition to this, the atmosphere was poor the staff quite unfriendly so we left and went elsewhere that were able to accommodate and provide us with a Sunday roast and service with a smile. Hence, we will not be returning.

Visited for Sunday roast. Went with the lemon chicken, which was hard, like it had been first cooked 3 days prior. Although we were a table of 4, the veg was brought out on a separate plate which was not enough for 4 people. We asked for more and it arrived 15 minutes later. In fact, everything was so slow, everything down to the bill at the end took a ridiculous time to actually arrive. We had the sharing platter for desert, and I asked for the blueberry cheesecake to be swapped for apple crumble which I was told would be ok. The sharing platter comes, with blueberry cheesecake. I figured the ice cream would have probably melted by the time anyone could help sort that out so I left it. One bite of the blueberry cheesecake was enough to make you never order desert ever again in your life, I’m not even exaggerating when I say it tasted like drains. All in all an unpleasant experience, which is a shame because the restaurant itself is very nice. I did not have the energy to spend what I anticipated to be around an hour trying to sort it out with the waiter so I paid the bill and left.

Lovely evening spent with family celebrating 2 birthdays. The function room was amazing, plenty of space for the kids to run.I purchased the silver package food for 16 people the food was amazing but I think a few items were missing we didn’t have crostini or halloumi with dip. This limited the veggie options slightly. I felt the food while amazing quality the quantity wasn’t quite right. I paid £300 including 3 childrens meals so I think a would have expected a bit more. But the evening was lovely the booking process was really simple and they staff could not do more to help. And the venue is beautiful. So overall I would highly recommend and I certainly will be going back

Our waitress was really warm, friendly and attentive. She even rinsed out my baby's bowl for us (I didn't even ask, she offered)- a lovely touch. Food was delicious and well priced. Lovely decor/ atmosphere. Great choice on the menu. This was my second visit and will definitely go back.
