Honestly one of the best Carvery's i've ever been too, great atmosphere, brilliant food, lovely staff. We will 100% be coming back, thank you for a great sunday afternoon

First time in a couple of years, and I believe a change of ownership. Little surprised having visited early on a Friday evening at how quiet it was. Found the food ‘ok’, burger was well done on the outside and not so well done on the inside (it was fully cooked I must add). Chips looked and tasted like they were from the local chippy and weren’t great if I’m honest, with very few on the plate. Mushroom bruschettas were very nice however, top notch. Will probably visit again for a carvery to see what that’s like, but overall a little disappointed compared to previous visits.Service was friendly and had a wait of around 20 minutes for the food which I didn’t think was unreasonable for a table of four.

Cheese and onion pie very tasty. Polite and friendly prompt service. Good coffee. Sheltered outside seating. Comfortable, relaxed atmosphere. Have been several times and will return.

Never been before. There was a large birthday party going on in an adjoining area. Ordered our food, waited that long I developed cobwebs...food came..was ok but not very hot but edible. Staff friendly. Word of warning. Check before you book if they already have a large party in as small tables seem to get forgotten:(

Proper decent pub grub. Bit confusing when you go in as there is no table service and you have to order food at the bar. A sign letting people know would be perfect as we were sat down without drink or food for fifteen minutes like a pair of lemons. Other then that everything was top notch.

Love this place but it has just changed ownership and seemed to have a few teething problems and closed for a week while they did some improvements to the electricity and then after Christmas they did a kitchen refit that said we were made to feel welcome on Saturday lunchtime 15th Jan 2022 the two girls on service Always find time for a chit chat no matter how busy the are, the food is very good and more than plentiful, so if you used to visit in the past or your thinking of visiting why not give it a go, you won’t be disappointed. Oh just a note dogs are allowed but outdoor dining or drinking only.

Booked table for 9 was set up for 8 when we arrived, 3 of us ordered cavery, the rest off the menu, waited 40mins for meals, very slow ..the cavery ..beef was lovely, cabbage carrots and roast etc luke warm, stuffing like cement, must say gravy was lovely even though the area around the gravy need a wipe, the rest of the party was not impressed by there main either. 20min wait for desserts, bar staff were lovely but will not be going back again.

What an amazing pub. I've worked in the pub industry since 1997 and never seen a place like this!!!! I think it's one of the best places I have been to for a very long time. 👍👍👍.It's a little difficult to find the entrance as it's set back from the main Manchester road, but is signed at the entrance to the car park. Hope you like the pictures...The pub was once a station on this line. And I loved the fact that the King George V post box was still in its original position. I'm also a great lover of railways so this place was like heaven for me.

Had a pleasant and comfortable sit outside during the second week of outdoor seating being permitted after lockdown. Although several servers were working their attention seemed scattered and the service was slow but otherwise polite and efficient. The pie was very nice and the cheeseburger was inoffensive but not exciting or notable.
