The Maple Tree in Stockport

A Lovely time served waiter, I will start off with. Sadly & annoyingly their food poor./ lo standard.Nothing fresh looking, no stir fried crunchy veg in our dishes. Oh 3 squares of soggy green pepper. Not very hot. Small portion of rice pr person.The Prawn with ginger & spring onion dish tasted & looked very much like it was in an English chicken gravy granual mix.The best item was the 1 each ribs on our sharing platter for 2. The seaweed had a rancid oil 'impossible to eat' taste.Wine size was not offered or asked what size we would like. So £6+ for a large glass was whacked on the bill!!!!A shocking £75 bill & not itemized, for not very healthy, very over priced food that we talked about thoroughly with the OWNER politely, several times throughout the meal. Owner even warned us not to choose anything with cashews as they are deep fried 1st too.. What!!!No offer of a reduction or re-cooking, at all, despite our clear disappointment, just the comment.. "When you come back I make better for you". Really!!! &. take £75 off us!!I do not think so!! ) Almost equiv of 4 persons say at Jasmine in Chorlton)We can both cook, we both love our food, adore eating out & had been sooo looking forward to trying somewhere new & supporting local,after working sooo hard & not meeting up for soo long. We deserve, Everyone deserves far better than the food served here)Puzzled how a restaraunt can survive serving such poor quality food.Jasmine in Chorlton it will be next time, supa healthy, supa affordable, supa consistent..& several others we have in mind..To say we were disappointed is being polite. I'm afraid.No photo is. Nothing was worthy of!! 😏

Food is delicious when eaten in but not enough food and is abit pricey. Takeaway big portions and nice food. Sonny is helpful and friendly.

I went to this restaurant and I am not sure it's on the same evening as another review, however I could hear her moaning. The silly woman, how rude and disrespectful.When sitting on a round table two ladies near me (one woman had short brown hair) was the loudest mouth I have ever heard, with what I can only describe as an annoying laugh. Watching her talk down to these lovely waiters and the Chinese owner I was fuming. Firstly the restaurant is over priced, yes I can agree with that comment but not about anything else she has written on a review. All of our food was fresh and the place was very clean. The Chinese owner is the star of the show, he was so lovely and you can see how much he is trying to make his business successful.My experience, celebrating my husbands birthday, our bill was over £210 for 4 people, we only had a set menu and 2 rounds off drinks. So this is why I dropped a star * however everything else was perfect.Don't let people get you down, your place was lovely!

Fantastic service and food, the best we have had outside of London! Thanks Sunny, we’ll be back soon.

Everything was absolutely spot on. Sunny was such a lovely member of staff and Evie was fantastic as well!The food is probably the best we have had so far. It was so light and tasty, it wasn't full of msg and it was so fresh, not to mention piping hot.We drove 30 minutes just to visit this Chinese and my gosh it was worth the drive!Very clean and covid safe as well.We will withouut a doubt return x

Lovely friendly staff, very clean & pleasant surroundings. We had the set menu, very good value for money, and good portion sizes. The food was lovely. Will definitely be returning 😊

The Maple Tree is for me The best Chinese you will find outside of the city centre and dare I say it better than most in China Town. The food is exceptional, we have been many times, have tried many dishes all of which are superb. The owners Sunny and Summer are beyond hospitable and Nigel another asset to the team. It’s price point is higher but you get what you pay for, high quality fresh delicious food served with politeness. 10 out of 10!
