We stayed here on the 30th April and didn’t have the best experience. Me and partner got given a the disabled room on the ground floor next to the carpark and the restaurant, up until 11:30 I could hear the staff/guests coming through the door and slamming it. Previous to all this I had asked to move rooms upstairs and the manager proceeded to do this for us, we got upstairs and the manager had allocated us to a room with one single bed for both me and my partner so then had to go all the way back downstairs to room 1. The room was also very very cold, had no plug sockets next to the bed and only 1 socket in the room.My partner and I have been to miller and carters many a times in London and the food is always excellent however the breakfast I had was not okay, I had avocado on sourdough (minus the salmon) and the portion size for £9 was not acceptable, I had the tiniest piece of sourdough and a very small amount of avocado. (Can’t attach pictures) All our poached eggs were hard and not runny which was also a downer. We also wasn’t asked how our stay was when we handed in the keys. The other cooked breakfasts were lovely but probably wouldn’t stay again unfortunately.

Only complaint is that the room was directly over the kitchen and so stank of cooking oil etc. If you like the smell of a chip shop, then no problem.

Decor is a bit tired and dated, very creaky floor boards, paper thin walls (I could hear the gent in the next room coughing all night). Could do with socket or USB port near the bed. Bed was comfy though. Staff were very helpful and attentive.

We've been here a few times for breakfast and once or twice for dinner. Always excellent food and lovely staff. Definitely recommend.

Food was amazing, Adam served us and was lovely! Travelled down from Scotland ❤️

The bad things:Broken cold tap in the bathroom, missing / broken safety bar on the room door, cheap plastic toilet seat, faint smell of cigarette smoke, a general 'grubby' appearance in the bathroom (although I'm pretty certain it was clean). The hotel side of this place is just tired now - it needs a good refurbishment, decorating, and fixtures & fittings updated. I also was not told that there would be no hot breakfast on my first morning there when I booked OR when I checked in - I had to find out after going down to breakfast in anticipation of a good fry-up type breakfast. The good things:Staff (especially the cleaning staff) friendly and helpful. It's a short walk to the the restaurant if you like the Miller & Carter SteakhouseI'm familiar with it as I've stayed there a few times (each time, unfortunately, progressively a worse stay)Easy to get to Stockport or Manchester from hotel.

Overpriced hotel that should include breakfast if wanting to justify fee.Staff seemed rushed and did not ask how our stay was. So I'll share here...Hard bed, cold room, curtains to floor that cover radiator so no heat into room.Shower was really bad, needs instructions as the temperature was instantly scalding if you get the dial wrong. Grout black in places. No water or glasses. On a positive note, free parking and ideal location for our stay.

Staff were so helpful. Great location. Cosy room. Few problems with room was sorted quickly by friendly staff.Only other negative was value for money. Feel that £92 for a double room was excessive as we also had to pay over £20 for 2 breakfasts. Not worth over £110 for bed and breakfast. Having said that, English breakfast was enjoyable.

Great service, very chatty, lovely food at reasonable prices. Classy interior. Been a few times and waitress remembered me!! Simple 9oz Steak with sauce spot on, cooked to perfection. My mums fish and chips went down well as well.

Stayed here on new year's eve, and new year's day, and returned two weeks later (social, family reasons). The stairs leading to the room are narrow, old & tired looking decor. You could easily form the impression that the rooms are going to be similarly tired looking. But they are not. The rooms, toilets, showers are immaculately clean and comfortable. The beds likewise, very comfortable. Depending on which room you get, the views are not brilliant, but that should not be a problem if comfort is what you are looking for. The complementary continental breakfast was excellent. You can pay for cooked breakfast but we didn't have any.We did have a steak meal in the evening. You can't beat a Miller & Carter steak. They are simply superb! The staff were brilliant..friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about their menu. Didn't mind leaving a reasonable tip.
