We didn't actually have fish and chips. We indulged in extremely naughty ice-cream

Quality is ok but the portions sizes (chips) are small. I guess you have to order large chips to get a normal 'chippy' portion. Wish we had known as it spoilt our meals and not for the first time. Being mean on chips has lost you a customer. Sorry.

Been here 3 x in last few months, tastes ok but the food is never very hot. Had to reheat as soon as we've got home & We only live a few mins away.

I am sure the 5 star reviews are from friends and family of the chip shop. Noticed they are selling crepes, good idea because the fish and chips are cr@p! Expensive and really small portions. Avoid

Worst chip shop in the area. Go to Matt's plaice in bredbury , Mr Chips or Panicos if you want a decent fish and chips

We ordered two portions of vegan sausage with chips and a pot of curry sauce. We've been looking forward to trying this place for a long time but we're sadly very disappointed. The portion was very, very small. The curry sauce was put in the box to take up place of chips. We saw other people's orders and this didn't happen, their sauce was put separately into the bag. It wasn't cheap either, £11.60 for the order and we were still hungry after we'd finished. Chips were average, curry sauce was nice, one of us enjoyed the sausage. Won't be rushing back.

First time here and what a treat. Fish was fresh as can be and chips were spot on. All served quickly and efficiently by the polite and friendly girl behind the counter. Good value too - will defo be back

First time I have been here since under new ownership,The chips are nice but very small portion for what you pay and the fish was heavily battered so that the fish looked more than it is.This is no where near the best chip shop in the area, we will continue with the Goyt chip shop.

All I can say is wow....a 10 from us!!Brilliant service these days we find v hard to come by...We fancied chips an curry but couldn't find a bench anywhere in this little gem of a village...Anyway the chap Benind the counter must have read our minds an informed us the pub across the road would allow us to sit outside as long as we bought a drink....great..an then offered to bring our snack across the road for us!!!.. the pub an the barman were also amazing ..the beer from recycled cornflakes..yes u read right.......lovely..And u won't believe this...just as I was looking around the place for a bin...the same charming psychic from across the road arrived back to remove our rubbish!!!!And honestly this was our 1st visit here but definitely coming back...thank you v much

Avoid this place at all cost, something tells me these 4+ reviews may be written by family & friends. I have just queued for 31 minutes when I was the only customer waiting, sadly when I get home I found the food to be disgraceful " the chips stank of old fat, they were almost black like they had been recooked and recooked, the fish swimming in grease instead of water, truthfully it was disgusting. The pies were like rubber like they had been partially cooked days ago then microwaved. Even, if you live in Chesterfield its far quicker to drive to Taylors Woodley and get your dinner, at least Taylors can cook Fish & Chips & Pies. I'm sorry, but you should be ashamed t what you are charging customers, maybe in the lockdowns you forgot how to change the fat or how to cook chips, fish etc.
