Absolutely the worst chippy I’ve been to in the 21 century… fish was a frozen fish cooked so dry the bin ate it and the chips also frozen few wasn’t even cooked and the scollaps must have been pre heated from yesterday as the potato inside was yellow and not right fresh… however they use proper vinegar

The best fish and chips I have ever had with curry sauce

I have used this chippy since a teen in the mid 80's, I fancied an older girl who worked in there and i used to get the last serving of chips and wait for her to finish and we'd go to the cinema across the road!Been in today and the staff are absolutely outstanding, the chips are beautiful and the gravy is the best in tameside. If your not Northern and you fancy becoming so this is the golden passport. If you are northern, this is the GOLDEN MEDAL.Thanks to the staff again, your all so wonderful x and thanks for all the memories in our town, you've made my day!

Truly the worst fish I've ever eaten in the UK, it was a like a magic eraser rubbery and the batter was soggy, it's clear they use the cheapest legal fish option possible, I use to love this place but since COVID it's gone the way of the dogs.1/5 do not recommend.

Been coming here for over 20 years. Not been for a very long time. I thought I’d have a sit down treat whilst working in Ashton yesterday. The place is absolutely filthy and I mean it would have been cleaner to sit outside on the wall.Staff were rude. I witnessed a server drop serving tongues on the floor and bounce off her shoes. She picked them up and carried on using them. She knew I had seen her and just stared me out as I watched to see what she did.My food was placed on a grimy tray that I could hardly hold because it was that slippy from grease. Sat down at a grimy table. Had to clean the knife and fork before I used it.I ate a few chips. Went to get my muffin. Which was a very low quality muffin in an unsealed sandwich bag. The muffin inside was slimy with condensation and The bag smeared with unidentifiable something and DIRT! I couldn’t tolerate the place anymore. I abandoned the food and left, passing staff shouting about being jealous at other staff getting p-*ssed in Wetherspoons. Absolutely no point asking any of these for a refund. Will NEVER be back.

Absolutely Shocking, undercooked chips, dirty plates with leftovers stuck to the rim, knives and forks with food still stuck hard to them. and paid ÂŁ12 for 2x sausage chips and gravy, some of the worst food ive ever eaten. As somebody who has worked in multiple restaurants, i dont know how this place hasnt been shut down. do not eat here, it doesnt deserve the one star rating ive given it

Some would say it the best fish and chips in Ashton.. I would be hard pushed to tell you of a better one. . Easy 5 stars

Avoid at all costs, only went here because its open throughout the afternoon. Had to double check we were being charged correctly but it was just extortionately priced. Woman behind counter had an attitude when queried if the price was correct, thought the food would justify the price but the chips were just about edible, unsalted and the gravy tasted powdery. Rather wait for the decent, fairly priced chippys to open in later in the day than go here.

ÂŁ4 65 p for a small tray of dried chips a spoonfull of peas smd microwaved pie served by a young girl who hasnt the skill or aptitude to serve food its not her fault its the whole place and staff who are used to serving people who accept low quality and paying extortionate prices . Zero stars .
