Love coming to Stalybridge Buffet Bar. Really good Ales and food. Staff are really welcoming. Brilliant place for a nice relaxing and calming pint.

Fantastic afternoon with the folk . Fun playing people in the ladies room .. such s good atmosphere. Friendly and welcoming.. good beer .. A nice way to spend an afternoon xx

Great real ales, open fire and authentic buildings. Less than 15 minutes journey from Mcr Piccadilly station. When meals are available again it will be as good as it's pre pandemic self.

Beautiful historical bar on the station platform. Walls full of railway memorabilia. Was served delicious pint of Timothy Taylor Boltmaker in perfect condition. Went back for another. Didn't want to leave.

I've been going to the Stalybridge Buffet Bar for more than 25 years. An interesting place to visit even if you don't drink beer or cider. Always has an excellent selection beers and cider. This pub has been in the CAMRA good beer guide for over 30 years and has recently won CAMRA cider pub of the year. Normally before covid (BC) there was a good selection food and is famous for its parched peas served with a pie. Currently it has local pork pies which are worth a go.

I have known this buffet bar for many years from when I lived in Stalybridge. It is one of the few non rural bars that still has an open fire which is very welcome on chilly days. It is the only bar I would feel feel comfortable going into as a lone woman. It is very well known to train spotters and has a large selection of real ales. You can still have black peas, tea coffee etc. It is unpretentious with some older features and the atmosphere is friendly but not intrusive. I was returning to Bury on a cold day and treated myself to a hot toddy which was very welcome. If you like swish and glittery do not go. If you like plainer but relaxed. friendly, with a good mix of commuters, visitors and locals or a warm place to wait for your train - with a drink and a book give it a go.

If you enjoy cask beer, this station bar is or should be on your list of must visit venues! Renown for its selection of beers, nostalgia and just a great place to find at Stalybridge railway station.No food apart from usual nibbles, and pies it is great to see how it fills & empties as trains arrive & depart, the practiced leaving with barely minutes to spare!

Nice range of real ales, ideal location for train buffs as well as connoisseurs of beer, three cosy rooms of train memorabilia plus friendly attentive staff.

£9.90 for a pint and half. It’s good, but not that good. Street food was very nice. And the ambience is a rarity these days. Good atmosphere and a lovely pint. Just a bit too much on the pricey side for me.

What a lovely original buffet bar opened in the 1800s and still retaining all its original features, the decor I doubt has changed either. It's an Aladdins cave of all things to do with railways from signage to lamps, posters etc.Theres craft beers as well as new Gin flavours, spirits aswell as tea and coffees. There's a selection of hot pies on the bar as well as huge sausage rolls and also Street food served on request. Whether you go in for a drink after getting off the train from work or just being inquisitive it's well worth a visit... Cheers!
