Large selection of beers. Most of the food is good and both are reasonably priced. As of 16-7-17 this weatherspoons is now closed... The Cotton Bale will reopen on Wednesday 13th June as an Amber Tavern sports bar.

Absolutely terrible, barmaid completely blanked me several times. I gave up in the end. Great pub if you want to watch the match on a budget. I won't be going in there again. Retrain your staff!!

Nice pub. Getting back most of the regulars who used to frequent the establishment after Wetherspoons closed it! Nice inexpensive prices, a great range of different beers and lagers, friendly atmosphere. If you are a visiting Hyde, and you feel like a tincture or two, then I can personally highly recommend The Cotton Bale.

It's not the Wetherspoons it was but hey: Amber Taverns have gone all the way to clean it up, refurbishment all over, great outside area at the rear. Good real ale and beer selection all round. The landlord is a good easy going lad albeit young but a lot of experience well worth a visit anytime. Doesn't seem to have picked up just yet but only a matter of time. As for the bar staff all friendly and polite, nice people no exception at all, thank you 😇

Great fun on Tuesdays 3-7 with me bingo name that tune play your cards right and karaoke Saturday night sees Mark and Stacey doing karaoke great night to be had by all 19:30 start! Friendly staff great drinks and great prices too!
