We were served by David and not only was he an exceptional host, I wasn’t sure what i wanted to drink. He made me the perfect drink. Not only did I love it my boyfriend tasted it and wanted one to which David was happy to make. A prefect bar tender and 5 out of 5 experience. Definitely be back.

Love the Belgian Bar as every time we visit it is always exceptionally good and a delight to visit. Especially on this occasion when we visited to finish off our night in Altrincham. It was made even more special by our host/barman who we didn't catch the name of but did ascertain that he was from Croatia. He was a very attentive guy with a lovely disposition and a friendly manner. 😊. Whenever we go to Altrincham we always drop into the Belgian Bar as its always convivial and welcoming. Fabulous place with a gorgeous ambience. Wonderful!!

Lovely cozy pub and the staff are lovely, friendly and cheerful. The only issue is that they charge you a 10% service without telling you or having it wrote down anywhere on the drink menu. When I walked in I was told to take a seat anywhere and I only ordered 2 standard beers no food. The bill should of came to £10.60 and was charge £11.66. I don’t mind paying a service if I was told or given a receipt but I wasn’t. I asked the gentleman why I was charged and he says it’s a service charge as it’s table service only but if I went to the bar myself I wouldn’t of got charged. Yes I was given a refund of my beers which I didn’t want as I was trying to say it’s the principle of you not telling us and not just secretly adding it on without us knowning. If you are going to do this please note this on your menu or tell your staff to inform everyone.

Love this bar, great staff and service, and beer of course!

Staff super friendly and great selection of beer....and you can't beat a toasty open fire on a cold winter's evening.

Visited Belgian Bar yesterday for the first time and I was astonished about the level of customer service received. Nothing was too much trouble, staff was super friendly (they found a perfect balance of being friendly and not overload the customer with kindness).Although someone went beyond and above to make our table happy and that was David. I have asked for mocktail (not on the menu) thinking I might be faced with 'no' as it happened in few places already, but for David that was not a problem. All evening he was making me the most amazing drinks I could possibly imagine. Blends, taste and attention to details... just wow!!! Thank you so much for accommodating my needs. Left the bar super happyYou guys should put those on the menu. Let other people taste what I did!

In one word. Terrible. Ordered a Steak medium and couldn't believe how overcooked it was. Chef should re trade. Removed the service charge as staff seemed disinterested and felt as if we were an inconvenience although satisfied my money was returned. 1 star review as beer was nice. Photo of steak attached

A nice bar worth a good selection of beers that are a break from the hoppy craft beer norm. Has a few draft and a fairly large menu of bottled beers. It is pretty small and service can be variable, particularly if you time it wrong. But a nice relaxed venue of you get it right.

Great selection of Belgian Beers ranging from Pils to some great Trappist brews. Lovely to sit outside imagining you're tucked away in a small side street in Bruges or Ghent. Inside the bar the feeling of being in the low countries continues with dark wooden panels, open fire, small tables and on the second floor the typical spiral staircase.

Had a really nice couple of 'St-Feuillien Blond' beers. I was spoilt for choice on tap. This beer is lovely. I asked for something silimar to La Chouffe (but on tap) and the owner knew where to point me. I was given some nice salty nacho kinda chips too. There was a nice raging fireplace which warmed the 2 floors of the building nicely. Il definately come back.
