Had a great party with my friends, food was delicious and wine excellent, staff very friendly great service

Went this evening for the first time really wished we truly hadn't bothered .staff were polite then a table came in wirh six business men who were based in China that was it all attention was on them. Our drinks came and then we ordered starters came they were OK.then we waited and waited and waited excuses came they were busy with the big table and take a ways and delivery's. So we waited the warm plates were now stone cold..then our food arrived I had the duck in lemon sauce with fried rice hubby had chicken in satay sauce boil rice it was awful the duck was chewy and uneatable rice was shocking. Also uneatable We stood up and put our coats on they asked was there a problem we told them yes .then came the excuses we were not offered any refund for our food shocking. We were not the only table to leave because they had waited to long.give it abig miss.

Restaurant is clean with nice decor, all the staff are very friendly and would do anything for you, the food was exceptional and I especially liked the vegetarian chicken in chilli and garlic, excellent dining experience 😀

Terrible!My husband has just picked up our order and it’s the worst meal I’ve ever had! The egg fried rice is rock hard and dry so dry I thought the egg was fried onions, the salt and pepper king prawns taste like plastic because of the container or what ever it was cooked it, I didn’t even eat one! The dim sum were not cooked, what a waste of money and all we’ve eaten is the prawn crackers and we are still hungry! Don’t go!

Really bad food, we ordered the vegan duck as usual, but this time it was something totally different the salad was horrible as you can see the the picture. when we call them back for an explanation they took long time tried to convinced us that the food is ok and they change the supplier etc that is way the food is deferent. I still got your food in my kitchen. due to a first day of the year, I am not sure if the restaurant is open for day I want to take it back to your restaurant and show you and get refund my money, this wasnt I order for. even my dog won't eat that food, can you explain to us why you did not refund our money?

Early 3 course meal was terrific and the staff were helpful, happy and just lovely. I enjoyed my experience after having the let down of having to wait 25 hours to go on my Holiday to Tenerife because of a Volcano cloud over the airport. Gonbay saved my day. I was smiling again.

Went here for dim sum, nice little cosy restaurant, I like the feel and the stylish furniture, very friendly and polite staff & boss. Although price is slightly higher than other dim sum places but you get what you paid for! Boss ensures the quality of the food at a very high standard 👍 I would definitely go again. P.s. They have karaoke available on the 2nd floor 🎤🎶

Every place you go to has differences. Some you notice immediately, others may take a little longer to share. Gonbay is a place where you immediately see the difference. The entire place screams luxury and great food. The smells just coming from the kitchen were fantastic.I tend to rate places I eat based on a staple. Example: If a pizza place can't make a good garlic bread, then they aren't going to do much better with the more expensive stuff.For a Chinese, the bar is set by prawn crackers. These were exquisite - and it's not often I say that about prawn crackers.Coming with the prawn crackers, a hot towel to ensure you are refreshed before eating.The starters and main courses that we ordered we on par with what I expected after tasting the prawn crackers. I highly recommend chicken cakes (think fish cakes but with chicken).Overall, we will definitely be back, and hope to become regulars.
