The carvery was incredible! The pigs in blankets, Yorkshire puddings and meat was cooked to perfection. We used to go to another place but after it become run down we chose to come here, best decision we made.... The staff are polite, professional and welcoming.Really nice atmosphere, claiming, don't feel you have to rush off, plenty on the menu too. Thankyou

Had a very nice carvery meal here today. The pub was very quiet, I'm not sure why because the food is very good and reasonably priced. Maybe people are unaware that the Hare and Hounds is still a pub, bearing in mind the recent uncertainty over it's future.I would recommend, give it a go!

Food was lovely, staff were very welcoming and very informative about the food. Being from outside the area and looking for a new place to come for a carvery, I am absolutely delighted! Brilliant.

Hello first I would like to say that I am a trained professional chef . And this review is intended to improve the place . Before going I read a few reviews that was saying that the roast potatoes was dry and it's true not only dry but no flavor and actually for me they are not even a true roast potatoe which is normally one of my favorites on a Sunday roast . It takes some skill to get potatoe this dry . Even the carrots are dry too .I hope the chef reads this review and starts caring about the food. Why not really roast them with the meet and add seasoning and herbs.Come on make an effort before the hare and hounds get closed down .....Why not even the chef go around the tables asking is the good ..Thanks

Bar server very abrupt and borderline rude on arrival. Forever coming over to our table like a hawk waiting for roadkill, not even asking or saying anything. She also asked one of the children to be quiet… this is a pub/restaurant not a library. Carvery was pretty dire, roast potatoes more like boiled potatos. Gammon was soggy, beef nearly ruined my relatives teeth due to it being like a curb. Lady serving the carvery was very nice and the only good thing from this visit. First time trying this place and definitely the last. Place we had been seated was hotter than the Bahamas, heating on despite it being 18 degrees outside.

Really friendly staff. Nice hot food. Can't wait to try the carvery. Well worth a visit

Came for a carvery dinner with my partner and son. Meals were cold. Potatoes, carrots and parsnips were rock solid to the point were they were inedible. Left majority of our meals. Ordered pudding and they came out stone cold. Only ate as we were starving from not eating our meals. Complete waste of time and money

Oh dear! The food was good, as always. But on this family re-union occasion, our reception was not welcoming with surly staff. Although the dining area was almost empty, they insisted we sat at the worst table, dark and gloomy, next to a blaring loud speaker and busy entrance. We could see more comfortable tables in sunny locations - but not for us. We might have stayed for dessert and coffee, but preferred not to.The previous day we had dined at another Marstons pub in Hoylake. What a difference!

Three of us had lunch today. Good and quick service and the mains were great, we all really enjoyed what we had. We then ordered two desserts and cake away. We had a problem with one of the desserts, asked if it could be deducted from the bill, it was, problem solved. Other dessert and cake away were delicious. Would definitely visit again.

Absolutely fantastic hospitality from Lesley and the team. We used Hare & Hounds as a base for a running challenge we were completing over the course of the weekend. Everyone made us feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. They even came out take photos for us so we could have memories of the weekend. Then on the last day they put on a lovely welcome in for us after 48 hours of running! So, so kind. Salt of the earth.
