Amazing Hidden Place, came across this place on a off chance. What a lovely bunch of staff, working hard and keep the place superb with Amazing Continuous Smiles all day, absolute credit to management. Everywhere gleams and shines and is incredibly clean, helpful and very welcoming. Got to admit even the loos were the best ive been in ......in a long time, puts spoons loos to shame hahaha.Live music I was told, bouncy castle, kids park, outside and inside seating. Really worth going 👏

This pub is so close to being brilliant. It has super friendly staff and is the only pub on the river for miles between didsbury sale and chorlton. It's outside space is great and very family friendly. It's food let's it down. Charge a little bit more get a top chef & improve the menu quality and this place would be packed come rain or shine.

Absolutely awful. Pepsi was completely flat, they switched it for a bottle - the glass they gave us had not been washed, had lipstick all over it. Food arrived stone cold, the fish was not cooked - mushrooms were like plastic, peas still frozen, steaks cooked wrong. Only up side is that it is dog friendly.

We hired Jacksons Boat for a 50th party at the weekend and they couldn't have been more lovely. The staff were really friendly and provided a great DJ and a buffet and allowed us to put up some banners and balloons. A great place to hire. Thank you all!

Great pub in a fab location, serving lovley food. The service is quite slow though, which lets it down. Only other downside is in the summer when the pub hosts 'kiddie friendly' days. The music is so loud, you can't talk or think and there's no point speaking as no one can hear you. Other than that, it's great.

Visited last Monday when it was quite busy being new year bank holiday. No where near enough staff on. Those there completely overwhelmed. Tables not cleaned, and staff delivering food not concerned about it. Nor about lack of cutlery and napkins. Took forever for a very weak latte to be ceated. I was waiting at the bar like a lemon for it while the food was sat on our (dirty) table. Toilets also no hot water and no soap. Food ok but not brilliant. This pub's location is great but if it was in the middle of Sale or Chorlton it wouldn't last being run like this as there's so many better run pubs around.

I've always loved the walks along the canal past sale water park, and having a bite to eat and a drink. Jackson boat is a delight to see when your strolling along the river banks. It is set in quiet natural setting , it has an indoor and out door seating area with a small play area .It serves hot n cold food and has a bar . .I don't know what it's standards of food and prices are prior covid , but I wasn't happy . The food was of poor quality and I couldn't eat it. I'm sure the cook/chef did his best with what he had.. then the price was just ' cheek'. The staff were friendly and helpful

Called in to Jacksons Boat whilst on a walk around Sale Water Park & some of the trails & tracks along side the River Mersey.Inviting looking building next to a footbridge over the river down a leafy lane. I took advantage of fine weather to sit within large garden / outdoor area under canopy at the side of the pub. For those interesred there is also a large childrens play area & dog walkers also catered for.Front of house staff are very friendly, welcoming & helpful without being overbearing.Menu & drinks list was a laminate sheet which I assume is reduced due to current situation. My first drink choice wasn't available so had a Guiness served in the dreaded plastic glass which never seem same as proper one. I have to say the food was a diappointment. This was served in the type of plastic / poly containers you expext to see in local burger joints. The fries were also the same type of bulk packed thin sort you expect at same places. Fish finger sandwich was just about ok. Probably left slightly disappointed. Staff great, food not so. Will give this place another chance at some point probably when we have some sort of normality but untill then would be drink only for me. Visit was end of May just before bank holiday weekend.

Love this pub. Been quite a few years since last here. I'd forgotten how good it was. A lovely sunny day on the edge of Sale Water Park. Brilliant. Doing the covid thing really well. Had a cracking pint of their house bitter. Anthony brought the drinks over and also gave me a sample of another cask ale. Didn't ask for it so that was a nice touch. Soup and a big sandwich with crisps, £6. Absolute bargain. Large outdoor drinking area with a play area for children. River runs alongside and nice walks around the park. Tram stop 50yards up lane. If you don't know this pub come and give it a try. You won't be disappointed.
