Even a 2 star is overrated for this venue,I know brewer's fayre is a low budget restaurant so I knew from previous experience not to expect too much but I hate being lied to.We booked this venue for Mother's day (27/03/22) for a party of 5 people for 17.30, we arrived at 17.10 and by the time we had gone in and sorted the parking ect it was close to 17.20 where we was greeted by the host and I explained we had booked but was a little early so obviously expect to wait and we was asked to take a seat in the bar area for 5 minutes only to there still waiting at almost 17.55.I could go on.

Kids enjoyed the play area, I think perhaps the staff could do with a bit of training as service was just a little strange. I think I've just got used to great service in local restaurants recently so this place stands out. I've nothing against the place and will probably go again, just will lower my expectations a bit.

The service was very slow first 2 meals arrived then it was another 15 minutes before any more came out. Food looked like it had been thrown together children's pizza was dry and inedible, staff spent more time on their phones and chatting to each other. Nice lad behind the bar very attentive and polite prompt service, poor manger seemed run off her feet and flustered. Won't be returning in a hurry.

I'll try my best to be provide a critcal review for my families recent but I can't promise anything. We were seated directly infront of the play area which wasn't an issue or so I thought, 5 minutes later the eye water screaming began which persisted ever 20-30seconds.Saying that the children were feral is an understatement. Masses of significantly older children were in the baby section throwing the heavy play area toys swinging them around and beating each other next to my little boy. There was a restricted area behind the safety netting which had been un-zipped. The kids were climbing on top of the climbing frame outside of the netting, its hard to describe without seeing but yes they could have been really hurt if they had fallen.Moving on to the food, the flatbread garlic bread was lovely, the sweet fries were spot on and it's hard to fault anything in that regard but even though I know it's not the establishments fault which is why I gave a 4 star and not a 1 star. Maybe ask people if that table is suitable during busy times.

Very poor visit.Arrived on time after booking and reserving a table online. No confirmation of the booking had made it to the site - we were then questioned by the hostess that we had even made a booking and asked for proof - 2/3 of the tables were empty and free so a party of 2 adults was not going to be an issue.Hostess showed us to a table and before we even sat down we're were told we needed to be out by 6pm. We arrived at 2:15pm. We were never going to be there that long.Instead of sitting us at one of the empty tables we were sat in an alcove with a childrens party. So we were intruding on their private function and were were surrounded by children running around. Not exactly a quite spot of lunch. We did ask to be moved but were told the rest of the place was closed. We ordered our food at the bar - the drinks were awful I had to ask twice to top my pint up because the head was too big.Food arrived quick enough but it was awful - 2 side orders never arrived, burger bun was crispy and stale, fish was rubbery and greasy (cooked and reheated).Waitress never asked if we wanted condiments or sauces. No one came to check if we were happy after 15mins.We left the food and walked out.Very very poor, wont go back again.Been there a few times over the years - even had Christmas dinner there once. Not sure if under new management or just having a bad day but the experiance was awful.

Very disappointing. We are staying at the Premier Inn next door so seemed like the logical place for a quick dinner before a family function. The kitchen seems very disorganised and unskilled. They can’t cook a rare or medium rare steak after three attempts. The breakfast was generally good but don’t order scrambled eggs. Mine were like polystyrene chunks.

good food, didn’t wait long at all, nice lil vibe. Would recommend & come back for sure

We were staying at the Premier Inn next door and arranged a lunchtime wake following the funeral for our son. The food was excellent and all the staff were extremely considerate and worked hard to make sure everything ran smoothly. The manager is Selena but we dealt with Kelly and she went above and beyond, even coming in on her day off to make sure everything ran smoothly. Couldn't have asked for better.

We attended here for a pre Christmas family meal comprising nineteen people. The food was speedily presented and offered excellent value. The bar was pretty quite throughout and it was easy to obtain drinks. Very pleased.

Plenty of vegetarian option and a few vegan option, more than average. Kids menu was quite comprehensive. Soft play area was quite good and safe although crowded.Wouldn't mind seeing some healthy options in the menu. Particularly vegetarian and vegan. Look at Weatherspoons for inspiration.
