I waited before writing this review, because I wanted it to be true to my experience without being hateful. I tried to keep it as objective as I could.I went to this establishment with a friend not too long ago. She informed the waitress that she had a slight onion allergy and the waitress informed the chef. We were told that her meal would not be cooked with onions. While eating her meal she suddenly made a strange expression. She informed me that she had bit into an onion and I could visibly see by her face turning red and her expression that she was having a slight reaction. We decided to cut our meal short and asked for the bill. That's when I informed the waitress that my friend had bitten into an onion. The waitress proceeded to affirm that there's no way that could've happened. She went to speak to the chef and we heard her talking loudly (almost shouting) at the chef in Italian. I cannot speak to what was said since I do not speak Italian. She returned to our table and repeated that the meal had no onions. My friend felt unwell the rest of the day as her reaction to eating onions is a severe stomach ache.I believe that the piece of onion that she tasted could've ended up in her meal by accident. However I was disappointed at the staff's reaction. There seemed to be no concern shown on their part and no apology was given. If my friend had a life threatening allergy that whole day could've ended terribly. That's the only reason I informed the staff. In the hopes of them never repeating such a mistake. To speak on other aspects of our experience, the interior design was gorgeous and the meal was decent, but not as good as I expected it would be. I probably had my expectations too high while looking at pictures of their various dishes because they are rather aesthetically pleasing. Additionally, maybe it's because we were two young adults, but I did not feel comfortable with the way the staff treated and looked at us.

Right from the start everything was organised and I received excellent communication from Federica when I booked on line. The food at Piccolino is exceptional! Very tasty and well prepared and you can chose among many menu options which include vegetarian. I love the service at the place and Sophia (hope I’ve got the name right!) was so friendly with the guests and made sure to offer the best quality for my sons 18th birthday. All the pre booked orders were correct too. The table was laid so lovely and they were able to host a large group booking. My son chose this restaurant because he often goes there for breakfast or lunch when his brother comes up from London. We all had such a great time and I highly recommend this place!

The food in January somewhat lacked the amazing taste I remembered from last year. It left me feel disappointed as I was looking forward to the meal. Also, as it was my friends birthday, they prepared her a lovely birthday tray which was really thoughtful. However, the waiter thought it was cool to kiss her on her cheek. Not only is that extremely unhygienic and dangerous during the covid pandemic, but not something they should be doing in any way! I'm afraid I won't be coming back.

This is my third time visited this restaurant. I had few drinks at the bar earlier last year and went for food in the summer and was sitting outside. Both visits were really good, service and the food were fantastic! That's why I decided to book a table to celebrate Chinese new year with few friends last Friday. This time we were sitting inside near the pizza oven. Service was alright although there's few times the waiter forgot to bring back some cutlery after the starters and before the desserts. However, the disappointment was the food. Quality of the food has dropped quite a lot since I last visited. We had few starters, pasta, pizza, lasagna and the fish, all just okay. Put it this way, you get a lot more excitement with many other restaurants in Manchester for similar price for this kind of food. The only highlight were the desserts, 9/10!

Great place for food and drinks in a fancy Italian style. Lovley pasta dishes and great dessert selection.

Excellent pizza, tasty wine and decent desserts. Pretty loud on a Friday night though - a bit too loud for the family meal we were trying to have.

Up here visiting staying in budget hotel. Anyway knowing how awful their buffet breakfast so didn’t bother booking. So I thought I would come here instead. What I would have paid at hotel I’ve instead paid for a delicious freshly cooked breakfast with fantastic Italian staff table service you get the idea. Had the salmon and scramblies, eggs were cooked to perfection, that lovely ever so slightly undercooked meaning they were soft and creamy. Thanks guys I’m sure I’ll be back during my stay.
