The Battered Cod in Trafford

I'm no expert in fish and chips but their doner and chips is outstanding. The staff is very friendly, especially the owner, who works there himself.

Fish and chips, Kebabs, burgers.Sadly they are cash only, but there is a free to use cash machine in the Tesco next door.Don't think it's going to be a nasty chippy because it's not exclusively fish and chips. It's probably one of the best I've tried! It's a little bit pricy but the quality speaks for itself. The staff are bubbly and chatty. One of the few places that still sell chicken and mushroom pies too! (An odd one I know but I love them). Would recommend their spring rolls! They're huge but to die for.

In summary "meh". It's an ok price, and I a great they avoid plastic containers, but the fish isn't great. It was more wet than crispy, and it sticks to the paper to the point where a decent portion of the batter comes off the fish. It's also cash only, but there is an ATM a few doors down in the Tesco. Overall pretty disappointed

Just asked for 2 PLAIN chicken Kababs salad and no sauce ! Husband just ate some it was NOT plain it was spicy . Due to medical reasons he can not eat spices at the moment ! He was immediately sick and in pain . I phoned to ask what was in the chicken she asked the manager he said it’s marinated in garlic , peppers and other stuff . I explained he can’t eat spice hence why I asked for PLAIN . The response was our customers mean no sauce when they say plain all take always have something on there chicken except Nando’s . I don’t know what you want me to do - the the manager told her to say he’d put a PLAIN chicken breast on the grill if I want . No thanks my husband can’t eat now , I just needed to know what was in it that’s set his problem off.It’s not about the £14 plus I’d paid but the fact it’s affected his health . Oh and to say their customers mean no sauce - I’ve been going to that chippy for 32 years ! It should be clear if I say plain chicken and then I’m asked after di you want sauce . No just plain chicken and no sauce that is exactly what I mean .

Used to be a regular customer here but I wouldn't go again, the chips tasted like they were left over from lunch. When Yiani run this chip shop the food was sensational, never had any bad food from yiani. The people who run the store now are not even in the same league.

The chips were ok - strangely slightly greasy. The fish - “all our fish are large” - was mostly batter and the fish itself was somehow a bit slimy. Not pleasant - will not go back.

Good selection of food for takeaway here. Lovely lady serving. Kebabs bit on the small side for the price IMHO.
