The George and Dragon in Trafford

On a Bank Holiday Monday I went with a friend who had just been to enquire about a relative in hospital. We stopped off at the George and Dragon for fish & chips with bread & mushy peas & tartar sauce. It was delicious. If I’d d had a starter I don’t think I would have finished my dinner.

Met some family here for a meal. Overall friendliness of the staff was impeccable. Wide range of drinks to choose from.Good menu to choose from although when my Dad chose his meal they were all out of gammon steak which was really dissapointing and for a Friday night which was very quiet you would think the pub would stock it, the staff should have told us before we sat down to save the awkward moment when the waitress was waiting for him to choose another meal. Food looked great although had to bring it up that the garlic bread was missing from the Mac & Cheese it half the reason I chose the dish. Must say though I thought it was polite having worked at at a pub myself to wait for everyone to finish the meal, the staff started taking it away before my elderly gran had finished which got me cross. Seems like the staff were rushing us and that's not fair you come to a pub to enjoy a meal it's not like they were busy! Puddings were okay if I'm honest should have been more Sauce with the sticky toffee pudding.

Had a wonderful family meal for Mothers day tonight. Seated immediately although we had booked. Staff friendly and attentive. All seven meals were very enjoyable. Yes we did wait but it was busy with mothers day bookings. Would definitely return. One little niggle, child's meals could be served on cold plates or dishes so they cool quicker. Thank you to all the staff.

It claims to be family friendly but the staff had no idea how to process the children's menu there was not a table to seat more than 3 people. It is definitely more pub than restaurant. Quite disappointed as we went knowing the table table brand

Had breakfast as me my partner always do and have to say best breakfast ever.we was served by Ben today and he is very good and very pleasant. I think he will be Manager on day for sure.

Very disappointed I've had amazing food a very long time ago but it's definitely not kept it's reputation I have actually worked there in the 80s got a good place to eat now

Wasn't that busy when I went for a bite to eat. Food was good but my experience here wasn't the best. Staff were friendly, and i know they were short on certain food items due to signage. When my food came out it was missing items, when I questioned it they told me they didn't have any. Would have been good to know before. They also missed off a peppercorn sauce from another table.

A genuine "back to the 70s" experience. What little food they had (half of what we tried to order was not available!?) - was mediocre at best. They managed to bring the wrong food, and then the correct dish when it arrived was cold! Not been this disappointed in decades.

Enjoyed our meal at the George and Dragon on Monday13th December 2021. The staff, Pan and Arwenna, looked after us extremely well and the food was delicious. Because of delivery troubles (seem to be widespread) some of the meals were not available but it didn’t stop our enjoyment. The Hotel was nicely decorated for Christmas and we re-booked for the following weekend.

Stayed at George and Dragon for three nights from 1st to 4th Dec. Staff were brilliant in hotel and restaurant. Fantastic breakfast every day. Met family for early Christmas get together. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
