I’ve been here a few times now, and while the location, atmosphere and the food are all lovely, I’m not quite so keen on some of the staff. Having spent a little bit of time in the Warrington area today with family, we decided that it might be nice to stop in for a quick bite; everything was going great until I realised that one of the male staff members (probably in his early twenties) who was sat on another table, just a little bit away from us, with a young female of a similar age (also an employee) was consistently staring over and giving me sly looks, now, while I can appreciate that young people have a little bit of growing to do, it did make me feel extremely uncomfortable. It certainly wasn’t the experience that I was expecting at the age of 42 while accompanying a mature family, and certainly not from a place of business. It’s unfortunate because we do enjoy going there if we’re in the area, but at the same time I feel like this just might have put me off visiting in the future.

Had a lovely experience here with a couple friends. Was served by Justine who suggested we try the shared plate and choc fudge cake for dessert. Food was beautiful and would recommend others to come here, menu is varied and the staff are willing to accommodate for additional requests

Food was ok. No wait time for food at lunch. Many sticky menus. Steak was overcooked (asked for medium got well done or more, was dry chewey) pees wernt cooked well either. No issues with the burger. Staff were nice and friendly. Price was descent. Overall ok experience, standard pub experience.

Firstly Justine was outstanding!Secondly forget spoons 3 for £12.50, this place is 5 for £11.50! Much better value for money despite spoons being amazing to start with. (Also slightly better portions 😜)Thirdly blackcurrant and soda £1 for a pint, can't argue with that. All in all a very enjoyable experience. Can't wait tomorrow 😀

Love to come to the barley mow when in town. Food is always very nice. They have a veriety on the menu and my favourite is the katsu chicken with chips. Staff are helpful and very friendly. Would recommend booking over the weekend as they can get quite busy especially when the football is on. Overall worth a visit!

Staff at the Barley Mow is very attentive and friendly. I have stepped in during rain, wet to the bone, and guys brought me back to life with a pint of Guinness and an awesome fake steak pie with peas and fries. Sorry, chips. By the way, I wonder why the rest of the world doesn’t put vinegar on chips. It’s so good! Also, you can unwind with a glass and watch sports on TV (cricket, rugby, soccer, darts, all the good stuff). Lovely place to eat and to hang out.
