Big Blue in Warrington

Went to the big blue tonight for fish and chips and pudding and chips , pudding was re heated in what sounded like a microwave and the fish was covered in batter what can only be described as doughnut texture fish and chips is good due to the crispy batter and this batter was more like a old slipper will not be going again , its such a shame.

Never get a friendly vibe from the staff here and today confirmed that. I walked in today not realising you need to wear a mask in takeaway shops as thought it was only supermarkets. I apologised for not having one and I would of happily put one on as I saw they had them on the side but before I even had chance the man behind the counter stated in a very rude, patronising manner than ‘this is a shop’ whilst wearing a visor which has absolute zero effectiveness by the way.

The actual fish was ok, but after you ask for very lightly battered and it's ¼ inch thick you've got to question their capabilities. Not as good as it used to be. Shame.

Normally good but last few times the chips were not fresh

I ordered fish and small chips for £8.50. The fish was shaped like a sausage roll, not the normal shape of a fish and was small. 20% of the chips were hard and crispy. Not what I expected tbh.

Staff are lovely and food was nice however I was told to stand outside when it was freezing cold whilst I waited for my order for 10 mins. This was due to covid restrictions that are in place in the takeaway.

Not like it used to be. Brown unappetising chips. Tiny chicken burger on dry bun, without lettuce as advertised. Better places around for better value.

Clean fish cooked to order. Good plaice for takeaway chippie tea. Bit expensive, so only use once in a blue moon.

Passed this chippy and randomly decided to try it. Busy with what seemed to be regular customers , the fish fryer was very organised taking orders and very polite in directing our order and all ppe was being used . The food was outstanding especially the fish , lightly battered and the fish just fell apart great size portion too. Even broke down while eating our food in the car and customers came to help give us a jump start .would highly recommend 👌

Best chippy I've ever had 10/10.If you're ever passing through the area and feeling hungry you will not be disappointed.The chips are beautiful and the fish is not greasy but fresh and delicious 😋
