Ego Mediterranean Restaurant - Stockton Heath in Warrington

I had a booking for 12 people on Easter Sunday and unfortunately tested positive for covid in the morning. I asked if all the orders could be done as takeaway and the chef said everything apart from the ice cream obviously. I have to say that we had a fantastic meal - in the garden at home and the food was all still of a very high standard. Thank you to the chef and everyone involved!

Very attentive, friendly staff. We just had the homemade Broccoli Soup which was really good. Nice coffee but the Espresso was a little watery. Very reasonable prices.

Visited Egos a few weeks back for a works Christmas Do. Booked for 8pm and out party began to arrive from 7:50pm. Unfortunately our table wasn't ready until 8:30pm and we were left stood at the bar for 30 minutes attempting to not be in the way. Once we were seated we asked for out food to be ASAP as we had another booking later in the evening. As a group we had booked the Christmas meal, the starters and desserts were enjoyed however the mains were not great with undercooked vegetables and dry turkey. The venue is normally a lovely place to eat and the atmosphere was still great so we would come back but probably not during the Christmas period.

Ego has been my favourite restaurant for years but I'm disappointed to say it has been knocked off the top spot after my experience today. The meals have been tweaked, my go to starter of Baked Goats Cheese is now served on a lightly toasted/slightly soggy bit of bread which isn't very crunchy and there is no rocket which I find makes it a little sickly.The wraps are gone, and replaced by flatbread, which is nice but I didn't really know how to eat it as it presented open but doesnt cut with a knife and fork. What I think used to be fresh avocado has been replaced by a smear of avo hummus on every item of the lunch menu. 😢 Fries are an add on now which makes it feel like poor value.To summarise, I just found the food didn't really taste as 'fresh' as I'm used to here.The Eton mess is still, in my opinion, the best on earth, so there is still that!I don't think I will be rushing back any time soon, I will probably venture out to some more restaurants with appealing menus for a little while.

Great if you like presentation over substance. Foods good but portions are small and they don't half know how to charge. If you've got a healthy appetite have something before you go out or else you'll be looking for a chippy on way home.

First time dining here for my hubbies birthday. We had a lunchtime 3 course special that was offered to us and was delicious all 3 courses . Lovely staff and and friendly service . I would definitely recommend and will continue visiting this place in tbe future

This restaurant was lovely I have to say. I was on a work"s night out and it was really busy. As a result we did wait a while for the food to start coming, but it was well worth the wait. The food was lovely and the sticky toffee pudding was out of this world. I would definitely go again.

Definitely recommend! Usually need to book especially for weekends and evenings. Lovely decor. Great for groups. Lots of space but always great attendance so great vibe and really good service!Has nice front of house conservatory style eating area too. Meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans can enjoy tasty selections. Note the conveniences are up a couple of flights of stairs.
