Where is The Black Swan?

🏠 550 Manchester Rd, Rixton, Warrington WA3 6LA

"The Black Swan is an attractive country pub in the village of Hollins Green, near Irlam. You can enjoy the bar with a range of cask ales and gin, the restaurant with great British pub food and a lovely wine range, or stay in one of our 14 excellent lodge rooms. The external setting includes our own pond with plenty of ducks, a children's play area, a patio for external eating and drinking, plus our own tractor. We welcome well behaved dogs in the bar and there are plenty of walks around the village and area which you can enjoy. We are open serving a traditional breakfast menu and then move on to our standard menu. All of this is brought together with our team who want to ensure you have a visit to remember. We hope to see you soon."

Good food, menu not too extensive, very pleasant restaurant with a terrace for fine weather dining. Or gardens with a large play area and they feature a pond with benches made over to the village locals, should you just want a drink. Good bar area as well, nice!

Went here for my 40th Birthday celebrations really nice warm atmosphere staff really nice. I was going to give it 4 stars because the meal was a bit expensive and would have preferred vegetables than salad with my main meal....but they offered my a free birthday drink for my Birthday which I thought was really kind of them so they get 5*. Nice spacious pub and children's play area is well equipped!

Imaginatively served food which lacked a little in taste but looked great. The absolute winner over several meals was the wonderful Sunday roast-- I was probably too adventurous on other days! The hotel breakfast was very nice too.Good place I recommend, decent staff but note hotel stops serving after last orders: no idea if drinks available to guests on room service.Interesting and attractive building, friendly locals and family friendly there is a great deal to like about the Black Swan.

Always a great meal here. Would also recommend the event nights. We went a good while ago to a fawlty towers night and it was amazing. Staff always very welcoming and food is excellent. Also a great place on a sunny day for kids to run about outside whilst you have some food and drink

Met up with a friend and went to the Black Swan as we usually do for lunch, unfortunately we were disappointed with the menu choices, usually we have a sandwich or toasted sandwich, sadly none of these are on the menu anymore it’s just a full 3 course dinner menu, no lighter options are available. We both a starter and ice cream. It would be nice if the sandwiches could return to the lunch menu. Lovely place to meet up with friends though, nice atmosphere.

Had an amazing Roast beef dinner 😁😁 really lovely authentic pud feel and managed to get a cheeky sticky toffee pudding. Booking is essential as we arrived without one and was almost turned away. But thankfully the people behind us had some of their party missing and got a table

I go once a month to the Black Swan and come home and fall into a food coma! Food is excellent and very good value for money. The fish and chips are a favourite but this last time had the steak and ale pie. I should have taken photos but... once it's in front of you ...dive in and enjoy. Lovely friendly staff and nothing is too much trouble.I think I'll be visiting more as I keep recommending it to my friends.

Had an excellent visit. The food and drinks at the restaurant were very good. The fish and chips was huge. The rooms were very cozy but nice. The ducks were a bit loud one morning and I was woken quite early and the bartender refused to make me a drink one night because they were closing in 30mins which I was a little annoyed by, but I would definitely stay here again if I come back to the area.

We decided to make our second visit here on Boxing Day 2021 for lunch. It was superb. Excellent food, quality real ale, friendly efficient staff, lovely atmosphere, great location. The Black Swan ranks as one of the best foodie pubs that I have ever visited. Couldn’t recommend enough.

Came in on Boxing Day for lunch. It was perfect in every way; wonderful beer, fabulous food, great service and a great atmosphere. Some say it is a little expensive, but it was exactly what I would expect to pay in a place such as this. I cannot wait to come back.
