The Grill on the Square in Warrington

I just wanted to say how amazing the service and food we had last night was.My partner and I came in hoping we could get a table for my birthday and even though we hadn’t booked, your staff were extremely accommodating and were able to get us a table.We were then look after by an amazing waitress who was not only polite and friendly, but was extremely professional and she is definitely a credit to your restaurant.As for the food!!!! Wow what can I say!!!! Words simply cannot describe how impressed we were, and we will definitely be coming back in the near future.Please pass my compliments and thanks onto all staff concerned in making my birthday meal amazing.

I took my girlfriend to grill on the square for a romantic meal. The table they provided us with was great in the far corner just enough room for the two of us. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The decor inside was simplistic white walls, dark wood, tall ceilings which thinking about it could be described as a cottage house look with large windows, with booths, high tables and seating at the bar with low hanging lights. The toilet was an adventure down stairs but easily located. The menu was presented well with a lot of options and my partner and I did the usual dance of "what are you thinking of having". We had a crispy duck salad that we shared and it was absolutely gorgeous, so much that my mouth is watering right now and I haven't even got to the best bit. For our main we had steak medallions and oh my God it simply fell apart as you chewed it. Highly recommend that you have it served to you as medium rare, my partner and I still have beautiful haunting dreams of those steak medallions. I would also say they had a standard selection of wines, beers and ales to chose from but as a Corona man I was not phased by the choices of drinks.

A Saturday lunch with the girls, after our plans were rearranged due to Covid, turned out to be a fun afternoon. The steaks were delicious, the wine refreshing and the coffee creme brulée sublime. Service excellent and great value for money.

Quite annoying. Called up admittedly last minute to book a table for 8 people around 6:30 pm or 7 pm for a Sunday night. I would have accepted a simple no that’s not possible but instead the lady on the other end kept saying we might be able to… one minute… oh sorry no we can’t… oh wait actually one minute… no sorry we can’t. Waited on hold the whole time. Didn’t feel like there was much effort to accommodate us. I’m sure it’s a good place to eat but phone manner could do with improving.

If only I could give 10 stars. An absolutely fantastic place with equally top notch staff.Quality food, A+ customer service and lovely ambiance. All staff were great but special mention to Lazio.

Lovely evening meal with friends. Staff were great and food was very good. Everyone enjoyed the food and left full. Good portions.

Solid 4 stars however far from perfect, tables are a bit to close to each other you can hear what other people talking about also there was a minor issue with my mums meal witch was taken care off by staff (that was first time when I saw her complaining about her meal to a staff member) my and my partner meal was decent for a price about £15. I've been here few times before and always thought about it as premium restaurant I'll give them another shot soon

60th and 50th birthday celebrations. Food was amazing and although there were 20 in the party all food was delivered correctly with no mistakes. Quality of food was excellent, and staff very attentive and friendly.

I booked a table for my wife birthday Thursday 28/10/21 at 19:30 hours. on arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome and showed to our table, that was the end of the good experience. when seated we waited approximately 15/20 minutes to be served drinks and for our order to be taken. our starter was delivered within a reasonable time and i must say it was delicious. the service to our main course was a joke?? after waiting patiently for approximately 55 minutes for our main course to served, we were informed by the Manger that our order had been lost, a half hearted apology was offered and we were asked, would we mind waiting another 30 minutes or so for our food to be prepared. I declined the offer and explained the service was not acceptable. on leaving the Grill on the square, my wife was offered a free drink as a way of apology (a little to late) when I settled my bill on my credit card it was pointed out to me by the Manager that the main course had not been charged ( another joke) then i was chased down the main street by the manager because the contactless pay machine had not worked. i refused to repay in the first instance due to the ignorance of the Manager failing to fully understand their poor service had spoilt a birthday surprise and all she was bothered about was being paid for what little/poor service she had provided. i eventually paid the bill in full. I have visited the grill on the square on many occasions in the past and the experiences have been very good. on this occasion they got it very wrong??? very disappointed
