Victory Pub, Village Hotel, Warrington in Warrington

Nice hotel, rooms clean, though getting an extra set of towels proved difficult tried the in app service button however nothing came. In the end had to ring the hotel and get put through then ask.. they were great then just very hard to get hold of them.

Lovely hotel. Pool and facilities are great. Changing rooms are very clean. Rooms are very spacious. Beds are comfortable. Bar is great for a few drinks. We didn't eat here as menu is is very basic but breakfast was good. Have stayed at a few of the village hotels and the whole family always enjoy it.

Big room. Not the best thought out design of lighting (lights directly over the bed and then by the window, which leaves most of the room dark). Also the TV from the next room is against the headboard of the bed from the next room, which we found out when the person in the next room decided to turn their TV on at full volume at midnight. After complaints to the staff (who were all great) they eventually turned it down.The hotel itself is just loud. We were on the second floor above the bar/restaurant and could hear all of the music being played until it closed.We thought this would be a nice stop over for us visiting a theme park the next day. We got very little sleep and ended up with a cranky child the next day.There is a Premier Inn about 5 minutes down the road, which is nicer, cleaner, a lot quieter and has a much better breakfast. I'd recommend there for any families or people wanting to sleep.

The only reason I am giving this a 4 and not a 5 is cos it is cashless.I couldn't get the WiFi to work so had to use my data, and when o tried contacting staff via the app it took ages. Would be a lot quicker to just go down to reception.The pool and gym were great.The bar was... Busy and loud.The breakfast was nice.

Great check-in system. Very easy and slick. Ate in the bar/restaurant and the food was pretty good. Chicken wings and loaded fries. The loaded fries were really tasty. Room was the usual Village hotel room. Decent quality. Bed was comfy, but rubbish pillows. One flat pillow each. I'm a two pillow sleeper so struggled with that. Could clearly hear someone in the room next to us snoring as well. Overall good but not great. Let down by the pillows and flimsy walls. I know it's something small but I had a broken night's sleep because of it.

Arrived at 2.00. Ordered food in the bar. It was truly disgusting. A week old McDonald's in a skip would have been better. Sadly meeting family here to eat tonight and again a breakfast. Dreading it.

Room was nice and tidy, staff were good but after multiple visits to the restaurant we had problems every time. One was with a gift card not working and took a couple weeks to sort. Eventually got it to work and the food never turned up. We were forgotten about :(. Second time, the clever chefs put spicy sauce on a burger which shouldn't have it (can't stand spicy! Lol) and ended up leaving half. Lady asked if everything was ok, I said not as I couldn't stand the sauce and she apologized.

Been woken up by maintenance work at 2:30am with drilling and hammering nearby. Night staff apologetic but seem unable to stop work or indeed get a hold of anyone who can. If you stay here, you'd better hope not to get surprised by works at night. They offered to try to look for another room but stated that the hotel was full and I'm not the only person that was affected.

Lovely clean rooms, didn't smell, comfy beds, nice food. Xmas dinner lovely. Great staff very polite and considerate. Disabled access room very big but could do with a walk in wet room with space for a mobile hoist. Otherwise a very pleasant stay.Thank you for a memorable stay.

Extremely disappointing stay. The standard of this hotel has dropped drastically since De Vere offloaded it a few years ago. There are several better options in the area.The entire venue is completely understaffed. Upon arrival there was not a single member of staff available and despite a few hurdles checking in, we had to rely on another hotel user for help. The bedding was splattered with blood and what appeared to be ear wax. It took almost two hours to change room with the help from an on site Starbuck barista as no hotel staff were available.One bartender was on shift to serve over fifty pub users with a long wait for drinks and food. Credit to the member of staff at the time. The food was rubbery and cold. When we eventually spoke to the hotel staff, we were offered a full upgrade with breakfast, free parking and gym passes - sadly we had already paid for these which was rather embarrassing. Not a single penny was offered as compensation. The gym is very impressive but also available to the public. Press ups in the room and an early night.Once the stay was over, we decided to escalate the complaint and was told "sorry for the inconvenience, we hope your next stay is better". Laughable. Customer service, non existent.
