Went for Valentines night and offered a fine dining menu. To be honest, we were left disappointed. An overly price menu to start given the experience. The starter was beautifully presented, however that was as exciting as it got, bland with flavour combinations that certainly did not work. The main course again beautifully presented, but luke warm at best. There was a 35 minute wait between our courses and the resturant was empty. The staff seemed nice but rarely interacted with us, and the chef could be heard yelling at the waiters. Disappointing for such a lovely location and setting.

Tapas "taster" menu disappointed. Lovely setting, ambiance and staff though

Don't bother! This venue paints themselves as a fine dining establishment, this could be no further from the truth. A pub chain lunch would beat them for both taste and value. Menu is severely lacking as are the frozen chips and sub-asda steaks. Couldn't wait to leave, but no, had to walk to the cash machine to pay the overpriced bill as their card reader was out of service. The website mis-sells this establishment on a grand scale. Think burger van scran and you won't be disappointed

We recently had our wedding reception at The Blue Mallard, wow! The food was delicious, the venue looked beautiful and the staff were amazing and went out of their way to make sure everything was just perfect for our special day and made us feel safe in these Covid times. Us and our guests all truly had an amazing day, I would definitely recommend The Blue Mallard if you are looking for a wedding reception venue.

I was really disappointed after reading the great reviews.... The steak was a bit tough, a few pieces of Brocolli and a bowl of chips for £22.00. A Gin with no fruit or extras, no atmosphere at all......Staff were friendly though.... overall a 2 in my opinion which was such a shame :(

Food was very good but service was ridiculously slow. There were only 3 other tables occupied and it took 25 minutes to take our order and a further 30 minutes to get our starter which was only a salad. What this place would be like if it gets busy is anyone's guess. Get shame because the food really was good.

The cowboy steak for two... perfection, and I even took q little piece home for the pooches which the restraint bagged for them to enjoy when I got home. Catered to the gluten free needs as able. We look forward to eating here time qnd time again. 😁✌

Went for a birthday meal Sun 23rd Aug. The staff were amazing and couldn't have done any more for us. The food was lovely and well presented. We mostly had the Sunday roast and was offered a range of choices of meat. All produce was locally sourced, it was so tasty. Just a lovely meal out.

Excellent again. Friendly, efficient staff. Social distancing and Covid safety precautions in place. Food matches expectations. Would recommend a visit.

This place does not look fancy- although its very clean and tidy- and you could be forgiven for thinking it might not be anything special, but it is. The food is really great. There were lots of good veggie choices and the desserts were lovely. Staff were fabulous- so friendly and also very efficient.
