Poor service, quality of meals mediocre. When ordered a cup of tea was given 1/2 cup of water!!

Saturday lunch. A short menu, with all the usual suspects on the card plus a few specials. But they truly are special. My Southport shrimp with linguini followed by rack of lamb was epic. Ale was good too. Worked out a ÂŁ40 per head with a pint and coffee included. No room for desert. Good value for excellent food. I used to come to this pub 40 years ago when it was just one room, with a bar not much more than a serving hatch. Still has bags of character. Miss the pickled eggs though, and the chap with whelks and cockles in a basket. I'll be back.

Great pub great food, freindly staff, we were staying in a cottage just up the road 5 mins walk away this lovely pub resturant became our local for the week, the food was just gorgeous with plenty of choice at very reasonable prices, plenty of guest ales also on offer, just one sml complaint they shut on a mon and tue so had to drive out to find somewhere else to eat and drink sighn of the times I surpose shame really, carnt wait to return to the area again as the Eagle and Child will definitely be on are list of must visit pub resturants.

it had been about 8 years since we last set foot in this lovely traditional English pub it was just I we remembered it apart from the fact that there was hardly anybody in the place were 7 years ago on a Friday night the place was 90% full. I hope that the management can return and increase the footfall to how I remember how it use to be 7 years ago also they need to repaint the gents toilet as I do not think it's been painted in last 25 years also repair the leaking radiator valve in the gents toilet on a cold night the pub was nice and warm we met a few old friend we had not seen for at least 7 years in general we both had a very enjoyable evening and we will be visiting again on a regular basis

Visited this pub while out with the wife and children and must say not impressed at all.Waited a long time for the food to come. Two other customers complained they had been waiting over an hour for their main.To make things worse a dog appeared under our table and started searching for food. When raised to the staff they simply asked a regular of he had both dogs with him, a reply of probably not was said.Food actually ok, but the experience wasn't completely pleasant so will not be revisiting or recommending.

Food and atmosphere lovely. Chilled and relaxed. Our waitress (think it was Abbie) was brilliant. Very friendly and got the order perfect even though we had a lot of requests and swaps. Will definitely return

I was only passing through Bispham Green, And I haven’t had a drink of water for, I guess, around 11 and a half hours… so I stopped at the Eagle and child and as personal signs I entered through the front entrance spoke to the huge Barman, I politely waited my turn of course, and asked him if I could get some water?“Just go straight through to the toilet pal” I was informed, So I did, and I got a litre and a half of nice crisp cold water in my up cycled water container, Formaly a cordial bottle, and left via the back entrance. I couldn’t find any signs with regard leaving the premises so, I took a chance and used the back door.Just as well as I did because I spotted a quaint little outdoor dining area and… They have a Bowling Green. It looks kind of worse for wear, it could do with a Gardner, A whole team of gardeners attentions actually. But then, what do I know? Well on bowling greens and gardening I know nothing useful.

Visited as a group for mother's day. Food and service were good given how busy it was. Portions as whole very generous but my main could have had more to it. Not cheap but quality just about justifies the price.
